"STAY AWAY! DISGUSTING! By far the most disgusting medical building I have ever visited. The staff is rude, inattentive, and dressed unprofessional. Everything, floors, walls, ceiling, vents, waiting area, exam rooms are FILTHY! Filthy by basic standards let alone what is expected in a clinical setting. Exam tables have torn vinyl, broken paper towel dispensers, and the men's room has dried urine stains on the wall and the smell is similar to porta potty! The doctor wasn't the best, but I wont go back simply because of cleanliness and fear of contagious disease from lack of sanitation. Random medical equipment and wheel chairs scattered and dropped off in hallways, a disaster and should be shut the hell down for a basic cleaning. Someone in admin needs to learn how to hire and train. Northwestern is the exact opposite, clean, friendly, professional, and well put together."

"If I can give it zero stars I would. I gave birth NYE 2021 & I still think about my experience because it was so awful. First and foremost they said I was not a high risk pregnancy but according to other doctors I will always be a high risk pregnancy. I also tried to transfer to a different hospital closer to my house and they kept telling me they've lost the paperwork whenever I called them however my nurse told me she was able to see it . Turns out The reason they probably didn't want to transfer me is because I was definitely high risk and they told me i wasn't.I barely saw my OB/GYN I always saw nurses. I also never got a folder with different birth plans like I was supposed to get .My last OB appointment was on December 28 of that year and I noticed The baby's heart rate wasn't as high as it normally was and the doctor told me I had nothing to worry about. When I came into the hospital to give birth to my son they left me in triage for four hours did not tell my boyfriend where I was did not even bad and I when I said it looks like there's something wrong with my baby on the monitor. His heart rate was dropping. They told me it was fine. After they gave me an epidural Every 3 to 5 minutes they would come in my room and tell me something is wrong with Baby his heart rate was dropping so they had To adjust me into a better position. A different way every five minutes obviously wasn't working and they still did not think anything was wrong. During labor they stopped because they realized my sons umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck three or four times. And I have a feeling because of what I had to deal with leading up to it that they 100% would've been able to see it at my last appointment if I got an ultrasound. And don't even get me started on the ultrasound they never even let my boyfriend come into the room with me and I only got about three."

"Had surgery at Rush on January 5. From the time the valet took our car until getting discharged most of the employees were great. I especially want to point out the nurses (Maureen) up at 13W for taking such great care of me! The only "issue" was an unfriendly orderly who took me from recovery to my room. The room was spacious, clean and stocked with anything a patient might need. Overall a good experience."

"My mom is a frequent patient at Rush Hospital. Every time she is there everyone is amazing. She has been there for the past week and every doctor and nurse has been so great. However, I am only writing this review because of her experience with Transport today. A lady from transport came to take my mom to the main lobby and the nurse was still finishing up removing my mother's IV and going over discharge papers. The transport lady was in the hallway complaining about how long it was taking and making it very clear to my mom that she was frustrated. My mom then asked her if she gets to go home after this and she stated " well i'm trying to but i had to wait forever". Then, when they got outside, her ride was not there immediately and the lady asked my mom what was taking so long and said "Forget it. I'm leaving you on a bench." We are never the people to complain but behavior like that is unacceptable especially towards someone who has been in the hospital on and off for two weeks and has enough going on in her mind."

"This is the hospital where my wife and I decided to pick to help us deliver our first born child. Their Labor & delivery triage were so kind and helpful and the rest of the story was followed by great nursing staff, midwife and pediatrician. I want to really thank this whole organization for over delivering great medical services. Special thanks to Taylor, Amy, & Jenn for their outstanding nursing services. My family and I will always remember. "

"If I could give zero star I would. I gave birth at rush in 2016 and It was terrible. I went to the emergency room with contractions every 2 minutes. I had just moved to the area days ago and didn't have OB yet. When I got to ER. They didn't believe that I was in active labor. They did not offer me an wheelchair, and went I walked up to Labor and delivery, the triage person told me to call registration myself as if I had enough breaths to catch between contractions. When I felt my baby's head is coming, the doctor said he needs to do ultrasound to see the position of the baby... 5 minutes later, my baby was born... Talking about emergency readiness..... Also, they did "ring method" circumcision for the newborn and when the ring caused inflammation which turned into a low grade fever (Less than 100f) and redness and irritation around the site, ER demanded sepsis protocol and lumbar puncture on my 7 days old newborn. When we refused lumbar puncture, they demanded IV antibiotics and IV antiviral, which then made things worse and made my baby lethargic, abnormally increased liver and kidney function test and redness all over his body. When we suggested to discontinue medications and monitor liver and kidney function test, one of the pediatric resident called my husband who was then a medical student a "studentnator". We eventually agreed to a lumbar puncture because of the worsening redness and lethargy and we felt like medication was harming my baby. As soon as we stopped the IV meds, my baby's condition got better. LP result was negative. We follows up with infectious disease and they had no answer. They need to listen to the parents. On top of that, if both parents are ER nurses, they need to listen to what the parents have to say and not call us a name. After all, incompetent doctors were harming our child. Hopefully they have improved their training and education but I highly doubt it. The whole L and D experience and pediatric unit was terrible. I never want to return to Rush and to this day, I kept all the medical records!!!!"
