"This place is the worse majority of the time. They never have enough staff. My love one is not watched over properly. She has fell a few times with them knowing she is a fall risk. People that work here be on their phones or over in the corner gossiping with each other instead of caring for residents. The language they use is foul and disrespectful around the elderly here. It's sad and it hurt trying to trust this place to take care of your love one and they do bare minimum. To come in today and see my love one entire lap and chair full of food was just heartbreaking. I had to ask them to come and look at her like and to give me something to clean her up. It's been issues and problems that I felt was swept under the rug. Once you say something they do alright for a lil while then it goes back to disappointment. I'm praying for better support and confidence for this place. I just want more happy moments and outcomes for my love one overall"
"I can't even in good conscience give this place a 1 rating. My step father was totally neglected. He was there overnight and I found him at 2:00 pm sitting in a borrowed wheelchair, shivering, without his oxygen, bent over softly calling "help, help, help ". The call button was way behind him. I went for help and was told "they are coming around". An assistant came soon and almost hung my step dad by his oxygen line putting him in bed. She denied neglecting him. I learned he had been sitting there at least an hour. We had someone stay with him that night. No one even came into his room from 1am until 5 am. And they hid the call button again!! If your loved one needs care, don't let them go to this horrible place. This place needs to be shut down! Call hospice and be kind to your loved ones !!"
"THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE THE , UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF. had a care plan meeting for my granddaughter, the counselor was UNPROFESSIONAL, unattentive, looking upside the wall, gazing into space yup that's right mr. Jamelle. HORRIBLE"
"I would like to say that your facility provides outstanding care as well as a clean, and tidy environment. Whether you see them in person or speak to them via phone, The workers are very professional & friendly. My mother has been to several facilities throughout Chicago, and I must say you guys are top tier!! Thank you thank you thank you for the care you provide."
"This place is horrid and needs to be shut down immediately. They are total liars and could care less about your family members. They shipped my uncle off to the hospital without supervision, knowing good and well that he has dementia. My uncle wandered off from the hospital and was missing for days. Do you think we got any assistance from these people? No! They lied every step of the way. They informed my mom that he was located at a different hospital hours after they knew, yes 2 days after they let him wander off with no supervision. Oh and we found out he was at said hospital from a woman whose family member is in the same facility, not from Alden. This is all insane. You're better off leaving your family under a bridge than with these people."
"I got to this place on a Monday evening at 6 pm. November 28, 2022. My worst experience. The evening staff there was a man that told me to get undressed and to show him my body. Also there was a lady too. She said nothing. I didn't get my sugar tested never got anything to eat or had my blood pressure tested. The room I was in was very very hot. No air. I felt suffocating. I had to use a diaper and did not get changed until 3 hours later. The next day the staff that came in to work. Some were very friendly. Until they moved me to a different room on the 3rd floor. That floor was for people that needed mental health. I called my daughter and had her to pick me up. So I left this terrible place. I DO NOT recommend this place to no one."
"It is my prayer that Alden Wentworth should be shut down! As mentioned in an earlier review, I've seen roaches in this facility as well and it's no big deal. Most of the employees (especially Management)should be fired because they do not have the compassion to care for the residents in this facility. I have met about 3 compassionate employees at Alden. I have seen residents mistreated, fall and heard some unbelievable things in this facility. Why is it always in the predominantly Black facilities where things are the worst. With the proper compassionate staff, this could be a great facility. Management is focused too much on money and not the residents. If they could only realize that if they treat God's people right, He will provide every need and money will flow into this place. With the current staff in place I strongly do not recommend putting your love ones in Alden Wentworth. They look at the people as dying and I personally see life in every last one of them. Please do the research on Alden Wentworth and know that there have been many tragedies at this facility because the ratio of employees to residents is too low, therefore, creating a scenario of residents not being well taken care of. Time to shut it down!"
"If you cherish your love ones please do not admit them to this facility for care! My uncle suffers from dementia and was left outside the facility unaccounted for resulting in him being declared a missing person. Learning our uncle was missing devastated us knowing his mental condition. The care providers at the facility were careless, dishonest and unprofessional during this traumatic experience. (Darlene was one of many staff members who treated us poorly- I would say the other staff member names but they refused to give us their names. SUPER SUSPICIOUS AND ODD) This facility has broken so many laws in regards to the Nursing Home Care Act and has fail our family."
