Testimonials
"I was referred to the Centers for Advanced Orthopedics following an evaluation at an urgent care facility, where my discharge summary included both the reason for my visit and recommendations for further diagnostic work. During my appointment with Dr. Charles Ruland, I felt that the consultation was conducted rather quickly. In my experience, the evaluation appeared to rely primarily on a limited assessment of my range of motion, and it did not seem that the accompanying X-ray or the written notes from the referring physician were taken into consideration. Dr. Ruland initially recommended a cortisone injection along with an MRI. However, after administering the injection, he advised that an MRI would no longer be necessary and instead suggested biweekly cortisone injections combined with physical therapy for what was described as "stiff shoulder syndrome." This recommendation did not align with the primary issue for which I sought orthopedic care, as my shoulder was not my main concern. Based on my experience/onion, the visit appeared to focus more on pain-management interventions than on a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. While this approach may be appropriate for some patients, it did not address my specific needs, and I left the appointment feeling that my concerns had not been fully assessed. I will not be returning."
"Dr. Charles Ruland miss diagnosed me with a torn meniscus. Administered cortisone shots then requested an MRI. The MRI stated there is no torn meniscus. Then Dr Ruland told me there is nothing he can do for me just lose weight. My 2nd opinion did X-rays I have moderate to severe arthritis. Beware of this guy."
"I have had serious pain in my hands for quite a while, and there are numerous maladies associated with that pain, from trigger finger to arthritis. Dr Garth Smith and his staff are friendly, brilliant in their field, and are the most patient centered doctors office I have been to in my 69 years. He will chat with you about unrelated topics to start and easily transition into your problem, fix it, and walk you up to checking out. It is always a pleasure to talk with him, and he is above and beyond amere doctor. He is a fine human being."
"Anne and her team have consistently provided outstanding service. Her expertise and professionalism have also contributed greatly to the rapid healing process that I'm experiencing. As a whole, The Center's staff is always welcoming and at the same time very efficient in the delivery of services. I feel lucky! Thank you. Mary Brett"
"This is our second time around with CAO/AAOS, and the team is amazing! We had great experiences with both Dr. Smith and Dr. Anvari. They were concerned to understand the circumstances of the injury and considered different alternatives on how to treat it. They made sure that the patients understood their suggestions of treatment and were part of the decision making process being comfortable with the next steps. Great experience!"
"Dr. Anvari is vantastic. Great personality. Explained everything to you. Didn't feel rushed with my office visit. He talked to me about replacing my right knee. I left visit feeling very comfortable with him doing surgery. He going to use the Rosa Robot on me. Waiting to get a surgery schedule. Dr. Anvari just did my rt knee surgery 8 days ago. Everything going great walking with cane now. Pain level seems to stay around 2 to 3. Have over 90 degrees range of motion all ready. Have my 1st office follow up with him this Wednesday. Glad I chose him. Recommend him if you are looking for a 2nd opinion. Always get a 2nd and sometimes a 3rd. Opinion before you chose your surgeon."
"I have had both hips done be Dr. Anvari (nearly 2 years apart). There aren't enough good things I can possibly say about how amazing my experience has been. He has given me back an active lifestyle that I haven't been able to enjoy for several years due to extreme pain. To live without constant pain is amazing. I am just sorry I didn't find him sooner and have it done earlier. But I'm 57 now and glad I didn't wait another year! If you are thinking about it, go see him. He's amazing and he has great bedside manners, as well as exceptional technical expertise. I was never rushed through any appointment and he took his time explaining what was going on and what my options were."
"I am pleased that I had Dr. Anvari as my hip surgeon. As a patient that has never had major surgery and was very apprehensive and anxious about having a hip replacement, Dr. Anvari was very kind and patient with me. He took the time to answer any questions I had and reassured me in this quest for quality of life, as my hip was so bad that I had a very bad limp and was in pain when I waked. Three months post op, I'm walking without a cane and am extremely glad that I finally had the surgery done. I would recommend people experiencing hip problems not to wait too long to have an examination and to consider Dr. Michael Anvari--one of the best surgeons and the "angel" the LORD sent my way! ~C.
