Testimonials
"I just wanted to share how thankful our family is to Dr. Hashemi and NB&JI. We had seen many doctors before finding Dr. Hashemi and his team. We were very frustrated with our options from the doctors we had met. Dr. Hashemi was so knowledgeable and caring, he really made all the difference to get Ethan on the road to recovery after a terrible radial nerve injury. Ethan was only 7 when he had his injury, and we were concerned with Ethan's future due to a possible life-long arm/hand injury. I could barely even consider his future playing sports, I just wanted him to have full function of his hand/arm. Dr. Hashemi helped Ethan and ourselves to understand the process of surgery and recovery and helped keep Ethan motivated through it all. Fast forward a few years later, and if you didn't know what happened to Ethan you would have no idea he had any injury at all! He still has the scars of course, but his determination and hard work on top of Dr. Hashemi and NB&JIs professionalism, experience and caring, has allowed him to overcome his injuries. Ethan has been a basketball player, soccer player and is currently wrestling for his varsity HS wrestling team. Every time I see him compete I think of the amazing folks at NB&JI and of course Dr. Hashemi and his wife. I don't know where we would be now without their help, and I consider it a true miracle. THANK YOU"
"Following an accident that resulted in near-fatal brain injuries, I am providing this review to highlight the exceptional care received at the nerve bone and joint institute. Dr hashemi demonstrated kindness efficiency and meticulous attention to detail and sharing comprehensive communication regarding all aspects of my injuries. He also showed extreme gentleness with a steady hand and attention to great detail and provided an accurate timeline of current events during the procedure I underwent and was very kind to my mother, this said procedure helped me longer than the expected time-lime. Dr rosenbaum display professionalism efficiently diagnosing issues formulating patient plans acknowledging the need for adjustments I greatly value their commitment to achieving patient goals and their adaptability and restructuring plans and addressing challenges effectively."
"Dr. Hashemi has been working with our son with regards to a complicated nerve issue that causes him constant pain. Dr. Hashemi is one of the most caring, responsive doctors we have ever met. It's clear he truly cares about our son's well being and addresses all of our concerns/questions quickly and with lots of patience, especially when I ask a million questions. Although he's had some turnover in his office staff, we've been very happy with their response time and flexibility dealing with our son's schedule. We strongly recommend Dr. Hashemi."
"Dr. Hashemi is an absolute miracle worker! My daughter has hEDS and dislocated her elbow last year and immediately lost movement and feeling from the elbow down. The doctor said in order for that to happen all 3 nerves would need to be damaged and the chance for that is 1%. It was such a nightmare as she couldn't even use her wheelchair, type or hold a door at school. For 5 months we went to doctors, ran test, physical therapist and no one could explain what was going on. They said the nerve test were coming back normal and she was fine and to go back to physical therapy who then said we can't do anything, go back to the doctor. Because she lost the use of her arm she couldn't drive, ride her bike, bake, type, or apply for a job! It was time to get a second opinion. Someone recommended Dr. Hashemi so we went to go see him up in DC. He immediately understood all the challenges with EDS and what to look for with nerve damage. He contacted doctors to get us in right away to run several test. We had 4 test completed and an answer of what was happening within a week!! I just wanted to cry because it took 5 months just to get a nerve test completed. Finally someone could explain what was happening. All 3 nerves were damaged and would need surgery to repair. Now having hEDS makes everything complicated especially surgery so you want to make sure you have someone who knows what to do and gets it! He was absolutely amazing during surgery and post surgery. After surgery he emailed me daily to get updates. The pain after post op is no joke so you really want to make sure you are doing everything you can. We met weekly to check up on her arm and I was amazed every time how much she was improving. Did I mention that she can use her arm again!! Absolutely amazing. She has full function of all her fingers and wrist. She is riding her bike! She is holding our pet cat! She is crocheting animals again! And now she is getting ready to drive. He has absolutely changed her life! For the first time in this hEDS journey I felt like we were being listened to! He has a client focus approach and really takes the time to listen to everything you say. He not only reviews your medical history with you but he ask you directly what you think is going on and doesn't just make an opinion based upon medical books. I will say too he knows the top notch doctors that patients with hEDS need and he wants to help you! I am looking forward to continue to working with him as there are so many other medical problems that just have not been treated correctly. Continue doing what you do Dr. Hashem! We need more people like you who are willing to think outside of the box and don't shy away from complex patients."
"Hands down the worst experience I've had just trying to make an appointment. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and acted like answering the phone was a burden. If this is the level of "care" before you even step foot in the door, imagine what the actual treatment must be like. Do NOT waste your time here, there are plenty of other places that will actually treat you with basic respect and would love your business."
"Dr Hashemi has been amazing during my whole recovery for my hand. And not only did the surgery go really well without any complications but not only did he thoroughly explain everything that was going to happen and everything he wants me to do to get better during the initial visit, she also was very comforting presence during the surgery with his throat explanations of what would be happening. I feel that I'm very fortunate comparatively to others due to my injury not being incredibly severe however that being said I would often (to current) ask questions daily which Dr. Hashemi would respond to very quickly if not immediately. I feel very grateful that he was the one that help care for me throughout the process of recovering from my hand injury and I highly doubt that I would've gotten better treatment anywhere else."
"I came to this doctor seeking help in understanding the systemic cause of my chronic health issues, something I communicated clearly from the beginning. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing, if not unethical. Despite outlining my goals multiple times, the doctor focused only on acute symptoms and assigned diagnostic codes that did not reflect the core concerns I came in with. This led to unnecessary tests, costs, and time--none of which addressed the reason for my visit and felt exploitive in nature. At no point was I told that systemic evaluation was outside the scope of their care. When I raised these concerns, they were dismissed, and no accountability was taken for the misalignment between my stated needs and the care I received. He gaslit me saying 'you don't need a diagnosis', 'it isn't important', 'it doesn't make a difference anyway' and when I pushed harder he added 'I am one of the biggest advocates for 'people like you'' and, 'have you read my book' as if that mollified the issue. Patients with complex, chronic, or connective tissue-related conditions like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) should know: this practice may not be equipped--or willing--to engage in the kind of thorough diagnostic partnership these cases often require. You may have a different experience, but I wanted others to make an informed choice."
"I first met Dr. Hashemi after I got a hand injury while working. At first it appeared that the injury was not that bad, and the 4 stitches I got at the ER plus some rest should do the trick. But my hand was not healing properly. I looked up different hand specialists in the area. I wanted only the best. As a carpenter, new Father, and Musician it is very important to my livelihood to have my dominant hand back. I didn't believe the x ray I received at the ER would show the true damage of what had happened, and I was correct. I came across Dr. Hashemi online, and as a person who comes from a medical family, I was very impressed by his credentials and qualifications. Dr. Hashemi was able to properly diagnose the injury as a Sagittal tear that wouldn't heal properly on its own. and required surgery. I never had surgery before, and was nervous about this, but Dr. Hashemi was able to put my mind at ease by explaining the process. He was very detailed oriented, answered every question with in depth, and defined every term I didn't know. He really took the time to make sure I understood, and was comfortable before moving forward. Ive had the surgery and am still in the recovery process. However, I'm feeling good, and confident in the future of my healing progress. I will be back to Building things, playing music, and being able to give my daughter the attention she requires and deserves. All thanks to Dr. Hashemi. Before initially booking my appointment with Dr Hashemi, I checked out the reviews online. Some not so great. However, those were the ones that drew me in. I saw a lot of complaints about the Dr. Being late, and a tad braggadocios. This put me under the assumption that He took his time with his patients, and was confident with his experience. I was correct again! To me Those are more desirable traits in a doctor versus just going for quantity over quality, Dr. Hashemi is Definitely quality, and I would happily recommend him to my friends, family, and anyone looking for a professional. It doesn't end with Dr. Hashemi however. The front of the house is remarkable. Specifically Khalil. Ive always been greeted with a warm atmosphere, and sincere smile. They remember your name, and make you feel like an individual rather than just another client. 10/10 would recommend."
