Testimonials
"As a former athlete with a variety of sports related injuries, together with much normal age-related changes to the shoulders and spine, Dr. Varlotta has consistently provided excellent and informative care over the years. His professional expertise and knowledge is apparent, and I have attained optimal results. Everything is clearly explained, and he has made a positive difference to health and well-being. Thank you Dr. Varlotta!"
"Dr. Varlotta told me a cortisone shot would be fully covered by my insurance and offered me 2 locations to have it done: Manhattan or White Plains. I chose White Plains, and ended up getting a bill for over $1500 from the hospital. When I asked him about it, he told me there was no charge from him, but that that charge was from the hospital and it is their responsibility to inform me before the procedure about their fee. He said if I had done the procedure in Manhattan, which is his private practice, there would be no such fee. I filed a complaint with White Plains Hospital, but they told me Dr. Varlotta should never had said the procedure was fully covered, and that his office is now denying that he said that to me, even though I've talked about it with him several times since. Clearly he should inform patients if he knows there is going to be an extra fee in one location that he practices vs another. There could easily be this transparency that would allow a patient to make a clear decision between paying $0 vs $1500. The fact that there isn't, and that the doctor and hospital, who have been in business together for a long time, just blame each other while sticking the patient with the bill, points to a system that is completely rotten."
