"Dr. Stefanides is a true gem. I suffered for two months with a meniscal tear, swelling all around my knee and a lot of pain. Previously saw another surgeon who told me he wouldn't operate bc problem was coming from my hip??? I am an ICU RN for 35 yrs and know incompetence when I see it. Then I found, by the grace of God, Dr. Stefanides. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, asks important questions, properly assesses his patients, and includes his patient in deciding how to address their problem. That is so important. I had my surgery and a week later am carefully walking nearly at my baseline pace, have a lie soreness, no need for pain meds and am now slowly able to go up and down stairs. I am performing the exercises that Dr. Stefanides showed me with minimal difficulty. I am also a senior citizen. Anyone who is seeking a a surgeon who has excellent communication skills, superior surgical performance and results and wants to be treated with respect and have a great post surgical outcome, please see him. Yes, his office is busy bc he is so good. I would rather be inconvenienced by a little wait time than suffer at the hands for years by going to someone with a less busy office. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the left knee where I had torn meniscus repair. Today, I had drainage of a small effusion from knee (common with osteoarthritis) and injection of gel by Dr. Peter Stefanides. What a wonderful doctor! Professional, caring, patient and listens to you. He explained the procedure and was very gentle. I have to admit I was terrified. He allayed my fears, spoke to me throughout. It was over before I knew it. Split second of discomfort. Had so much anticipatory anxiety for nothing. I highly recommend him. I have been to other pain management specialists and didn't have anywhere near the same experience. So grateful to have these two terrific doctors available to me. Thank you so much. God bless."
