"Doctor Eric Crone is very arrogant and cocky. He does not examine and more then likely will only send you in for an x ray and send you on your way. He had a lady assistant examine me and accuse me of lying about my injuries. Worst experience ever!. Front reception was very rude while i was in the restroom they were talking under the breath about me not noticing my spouse was still seated in the waiting room. Very unprofessional."
"If I could put a negative amount of stars I WOULD! I was hit by a car in early January and was told to see an orthopedist for my injuries. I chose this facility because it is relatively close to my office and I obviously was unable to walk very far at the time. I went to this office on a total TWO occasions and spoke to them several times. 1. The front desk staff was so rude, unprofessional and totally incompetent to the point where it is actually a pathetic and disgraceful first impression of any doctor's office. There are far too many receptionists, maybe 5-6 total, NONE of which I might add have a clue as to what they're doing as I was given the wrong paperwork even after I told them it was wrong but they still gave it to me anyway and made me redo it all over when they realized their mistake. ALL but one older lady with a Russian accent were wearing jeans, t-shirts, and grubby looking tennis shoes which any normal human would perceive as unprofessional attire for a medical office. Most of them spent more time giggling and carrying on conversations with each other in different languages then they did actually working. I called and booked my last appointment for 10:30 on a Thursday and even confirmed it with whomever I spoke to, and when I got there there they told me it was for Friday, which it certainly was not. Complete and utter incompetence, rudeness, unprofessionalism, looking as though they all rolled out of bed and were doing you a favor by even acknowledging you at all. I am completely disgusted by the entire front desk staff here. 2. Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan has a true "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" complex. First time I saw him he was nice enough, treated me okay, and wanted me to follow up with him. The second time however, the first thing out of his mouth was "what are you complaining about today?". I came to ask for an MRI on my ankle and elbow that were injured in the accident as only x-rays had been done thus far and myself along with my PT felt that an MRI might show what was causing the pain in both. Then he proceeded to tell me in a nutshell that I was a liar about my elbow falling asleep randomly, and that my PT was an idiot and absolutely not a doctor. He then attempted to make my arm fall asleep, which laughably did not happen on command, and then proceeded to belittle me in a horribly snide and condescending manner when I just wanted to know what was wrong with me and how I can go about fixing it! He then wrote me the script for the MRI (probably just to get me out of his office) and shooed me out of the room. After I received the MRI results that were emailed to me by the radiology clinic, I called Dr. Kaplan's office to see if he could explain my results over the phone. A receptionist informed me that he can't do that and I would have to come in but had no availability until late the following month! I then told them to forget it! I found a new orthopedist that same day who got me in the following morning, he read my results and informed me that my injuries may require surgery. Dr. Kaplan was too incompetent to request an MRI for me to begin with to find the true cause of my pain. He is inconsiderate, moody, and honestly neglectful. Also his staff is HORRENDOUS, but at the same time they are a perfect first impression display of exactly what kind of treatment you will be receiving at NY Ortho, Sports Medicine & Trauma."
