"I have been a patient at Personalized Physical Therapy for the last year. I have a lower back injury that has been showing up in my legs and limiting my daily activities and workouts for years. After trying rest, stretching, and over-the-counter remedies with no improvement, I went to see Dr. Nicole Shires for dry needling treatment. It turned out to be the best decision I've made for my recovery. From the first session, the difference was noticeable. Nicole thoroughly assessed my trigger points--those stubborn, knotted areas in the muscles--and precisely targeted them via dry needling. The process itself was far less intimidating than I expected: a quick insertion, sometimes a brief twitch response in the muscle (which actually signals it's releasing), and then immediate relief in tension. It felt like the muscle was finally letting go of years of built-up stress. Within 24-48 hours after that initial treatment (even accounting for some expected post-treatment soreness, similar to a hard workout), my range of motion improved dramatically and my back and leg pain lessened. Follow-up sessions built on that progress: pain levels dropped significantly (from a constant 7/10, a post-exercise 10/10, to barely 1-2/10 most days), mobility returned, and strength exercises that used to aggravate the area now felt productive instead of punishing. What sets this office apart is the expertise and care in delivering treatment. Nicole is highly skilled, explains every step, checks in constantly about comfort, and combines it seamlessly with manual therapy, targeted exercises, and education on posture and movement patterns. It's not a standalone "magic fix"--it's smartly integrated into a comprehensive plan, which is why the results have lasted. If you're dealing with chronic muscle tightness, trigger points, or pain that hasn't fully responded to other therapies, I can't recommend Personalized Physical Therapy, and especially their dry needling treatment, highly enough.
