Testimonials
"It's an honor to give the Silver Spring Healthcare Facility a 5-star review. From Admissions to Care and Discharge there has been a tremendous amount of care given to our family member. When our family member showed to be ill, medical attention was provided immediately, which may have saved their life and I was contacted immediately. Also, concerns was addressed immediately. Stacy in Admissions was vital and supportive and our loved one's needs from intake to continued care. She goes above and beyond to make sure my family was comfortable and treated with respect and care. The rooms are very nice . I highly recommend this facility accommodate a family member."
"My wife and I cannot speak highly enough about the Silver Spring Healthcare Center. From the moment we first visited, it was clear that this is a truly special place. The facilities are immaculate--bright, modern, and thoughtfully designed to ensure comfort and safety for all residents. Every space, such as the cozy common rooms, feels welcoming and homelike. What truly sets the Silver Spring Healthcare Center apart, however, is the staff. Every nurse, caregiver, and team member we've encountered has been compassionate, attentive, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the residents. They go above and beyond to make everyone feel valued and cared for, always greeting residents with a warm smile and taking the time to listen and engage. The activities and programs offered are varied and engaging, ensuring that there is always something to look forward to. Meals are nutritious and delicious, tailored to individual needs and preferences. Communication with families is excellent, and we always feel informed and involved in our loved one's care. Choosing the Silver Spring Healthcare Center was the best decision we could have made for our family. We have complete peace of mind knowing our loved one is in such capable and caring hands. I wholeheartedly recommend this exceptional Center to anyone seeking the very best for their loved ones."
"I am currently staying at Silver Spring Healthcare Center, and my experience continues to be deeply concerning. I was admitted after nerve reconstruction surgery and was promised a private room with a bathroom but was placed in a shared room with no in-unit bathroom. I am non-weight bearing and heavily medicated, yet basic supports like a wheelchair, walker, or bedside commode were not prepared. Nurse call responses regularly take 30-45 minutes, and my pain medication was unavailable for nearly 13 hours. Meals repeatedly include allergens I am documented to avoid, and replacements are not provided even when addressed. My first room was nearly unlivable: my roommate wandered and screamed at night, and the television was extremely loud. After repeated complaints and a mental breakdown, a case manager escalated the issue to the Executive Director, and I was finally offered a room transfer. The transfer itself was stressful and unsafe, with a nurse aggressively handling my belongings and bed. Even in the new room, problems persist. One morning I found blood in the shared bathroom, which was not promptly cleaned, and a physician loudly disclosed my roommate's HIV status in the room -- a clear violation of privacy. Leadership was dismissive when I raised these safety and sanitation concerns, asking "What would you like me to do?" in front of other staff. Medication errors and delays are ongoing, including near-misses and long waits for critical medications like my inhaler. High staff turnover and slow responsiveness make even basic care unreliable. Currently, I have been in the same bedding for the past four days without it being changed. I have already contacted corporate, and they have come to speak with me. I will update my review after my stay to reflect whether any meaningful changes occur, but if nothing improves, this indicates the issues are systemic to the corporation, not just this location. I also don't understand how this facility has good reviews. I see patients leaving constantly, often because family members remove them due to inadequate care and staff not doing their jobs. That said, there are exceptional staff who make a positive difference: Nurse Brigette (Lead RN), Physical Therapist Tay, CNA Lydia, Nurse Obina, Mr. John (front desk/transport), and Mr. Lee (driver) have all provided exemplary care. However, a few outstanding individuals cannot compensate for the facility's widespread systemic failures. This is not a place I would recommend for anyone recovering from surgery or needing reliable care."
"I am very grateful for the care provided at the Silver Spring Healthcare Center after my recent hospitalization. The building is beautiful and clean with lots of amenities. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made sure I was comfortable. If I needed anything at all, they did their best to meet my requests. The rehab staff did an excellent job getting me back on my feet. Even got this 101-year-old, to walk and go up and down steps! The meals were plentiful and tasted good. The activities department provides activities like Bingo, ice cream socials, and movies with popcorn! I highly recommend the Silver Spring Healthcare Center to anyone in need of a supportive environment and an excellent rehab department. E. Zukowski"
"My brother's time at Silver Spring Healthcare Center has been amazing. It has been a wonder to watch the light return to his eyes and the function to his body. He arrived on October 12, 2025, after 81 days being inpatient, battling his way through Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, a Duodenal Ulcer, 2 related surgeries, and the mental health issues that resulted from this abrupt change to his health and life, in addition to the recent loss of our mother (March 2025), and the sudden death of our younger brother (October 2025). What brought him to rehab was not the illnesses but the time being bed bound and the resulting deconditioning of his muscles from not being free to move. From the tour with Stacy-Ann (Admissions) to his first full day of evaluations, I knew this place was going to bring him back to HIS life. Stacy-Ann made sure to give him a huge room, so all his friends and family could visit without visitor number limits. When he arrived at Silver Spring, he could barely move his legs nor stand. The first full day after his admission, he was greeted cheerfully by more than a dozen staff members from various departments. For the first time in months, he showed a twinge of optimism. Ms. Gladys, Assistant Director of Nursing, gave him a speech that he carried in his heart throughout his stay. She told him his progress is up to him so he "will do 95% and the staff will do 5%." This facility and its staff have been a surrogate family during these past 2 months. Everyone greets us with a smile and a willing heart. The one thing my brother repeatedly says is that they treat him well and he likes it here. The nursing staff is kind and barely ever makes him wait when called. His favorite GNAs on the 2nd floor are Marilyn, Dani, and Sophie. My brother looks forward to Zoe, the wound nurse, coming to change his wound vac dressing on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. She is a light and welcomed presence in his week. There is Dr. Kebede who is always stopping by his room to check on his well being and even goes by the rehab gym to evaluate my brother's walking progress and cheer him on. I get to come and go with ease knowing that I don't have to return to a "fire to put out" and my brother is safe and being cared for physically and emotionally. Everyone is caring and welcoming. There is John, who coordinates transportation and vendors, at the front desk during the day, and Star who manages the front in the evening. They are kind and personable. Halima is the Activity Lead, who encourages my brother daily to come out of his room and socialize. She is always smiling and very persistent. Nerissa, Kim, Alice, and Tettah work with my brother for his OT and PT in the rehab gym. They helped him go from being barely able to move to walking, climbing stairs, performing his own personal care, fall recovery, getting in and out of his car, and recently being able to go for a short drive. They have been his daily cheerleaders, guiding him through the things that don't come easy, and encouraging him to celebrate his wins. Tico from Dietary works tirelessly and happily to accommodate my brother's pescatarian diet. Yasmine, the head of EVS/housekeeping, makes sure that staff is consistently keeping my brother's room environment clean and always has a smile. Joe and Lee from maintenance always keep his room and the thermostat in working order and consistently greet him with kind words and a fist bump. Louise, Unit Manager, Lisa, Social Work, Dina, Medical Records, and even the Finance Department with April and Simeon are always checking in on us with kind words, conversation, and updates. The point is that every one of these staff members and even staff that my brother nor I interact with regularly are cheerleaders. There is so much value in encouragement and not doing the bare minimum. A kind word is free and the Silver Spring Healthcare Center's staff gives their kindness freely."
"We are very happy with the facility. The nursing the real care and concern. The housekeeping is great. I apologize I don't remember the housekeeper's names but one was a Spanish lady and the other was Umi from Guinea. The therapist, Dr. Alice Karla. The CNA's and I'm bad at remembering names but I remember Pamela. Just wanna thank you. Oh let us not forget the front desk personnel Star and John. "
"This facility puts mine and my family's minds at peace. The care given to our dad allows us to rest easy knowing that he is in the best of hands! Special thanks to charge nurse Gladys, nurse Louise and tech Pamela; you all exemplify what true care means. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need!"
"Overwhelmed with the beauty of the center. All the staff were available to take care of me. I recommend this place as high as I can rank it. My room was beautiful. Private room with a private bath and my own shower. The staff are pleasant and available. I wholeheartedly would love to return if the need arise."
