Testimonials
"As someone with 50 years in the fitness industry, I have worked with countless physical therapists, and Courtney at the CA Athletic Club location is unequivocally the best. Her approach is exceptionally innovative and effective. She doesn't just follow a standard protocol; she truly addresses my specific needs with a level of expertise that is rare to find. For an older adult or a seasoned athlete, I highly recommend for her professional insight and results-driven care."
"I've had a very concerning experience with Pivot Physical Therapy, involving patient safety, staff conduct, and billing practices. Following an aquatic therapy session, I experienced a fall shortly after leaving the clinic due to instability. There was no reassessment of my ability to walk safely before I was discharged from treatment that day. This never happened after any of the other appointments either, although having shown MRI findings to the therapist of ligament injuries in my ankle being treated. After being medically cleared to resume therapy today after a week off, I called today to schedule a new appointment. During that call, the receptionist and a physical therapy assistant were rude, dismissive, and confrontational. I was told that I would not be allowed to continue therapy unless I paid a $40 cancellation/no-show fee related to a same-day appointment that had been scheduled immediately after my fall. That appointment was scheduled less than two hours out, while I was injured. At the time, I stated that I would try to attend, but that my ability to do so depended on whether I could walk safely. I ultimately could not ambulate safely and did not attend. Despite this, payment of the fee is now being required as a condition of continuing care. Being spoken to rudely and pressured for payment in order to access medically necessary therapy, particularly after a treatment-related injury, was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this clinic to patients who need clear communication, reasonable accommodations, or patient-centered care--especially following an injury. A formal complaint was also filed today to their corporate office."
"This place is awesome! Everyone here is so kind making it a welcoming environment. I had challenges with my knee and my physician recommended PT. I decided to go to this location because I'm a member of the gym and my daughter, who had a weak knee, went here and got excellent results. I worked mainly with Courtney, who was incredible, but everyone else was very knowledgeable. I had a very narrow view of what a physical therapist did. As in my daughter's case I knew they help strengthen your muscles but I didn't feel my muscles were the problem. I'd have a sharp pain in my knee doing certain activities. I was given an exercise routine to strengthen all of my leg muscles to ensure my knee was well supported. Courtney started me on a run-walk schedule. In the beginning it was fine enough then she asked me to increase my run time and I was afraid to because I could barely complete the schedule I was on without feeling uncomfortable. She analyzed my running and advised me to run at a pace of at least 160 BPM. I did that and I was shocked that running didn't bother my knee. I was so impressed that she knew to change my cadence to keep me from overstriding. I'm so happy that my knee isn't bothering me and would recommend this place without hesitation."
"Pivot PT (Athletic Club) is one of the best physical therapy places I've been to. I had previously tried other places, but none provided the same level of support as the therapists at Pivot PT. They consistently update my therapy exercises and monitor my movements during each session. The aqua therapy at Pivot has also been incredibly helpful, allowing me to practice movements that help relieve my herniated back pain. Overall, I would say it is one of the best places for personalized and attentive therapy care."
"The kindest most caring people you can find. This place and the employees have absolutely changed my life. I am so beyond grateful that I found them. Literally everyone that works there is an angel. I could not ask for better care. I'm actually living my life again because they're helping me with strength, pain relief and mobility. Thank you!!!"
"One of the best home friendly spots you can go to for physical therapy, Courtney and her team are always so understanding. I broke my left ankle earlier this year, I went there for a few weeks for physical therapy, on my second week while being there, the improvement of my ankle was beyond what I had expected. Everyone was telling me before I started that PT was going to be the hardest part throughout my recovery, but I can say that I have completed my time there and while going through it they made the experience bearable and not as hard as I was told. I would recommend them for anyone who wants a good professional physical therapist. DL"
"I chose Pivot at this location because of the great reviews on Google. I'm not sure if my experience was an anomaly or if only positive reviews are being posted. I made an appointment for an 8am intake/evaluation and arrived 15 minutes early as instructed. Upon arriving, there was no one at the front desk, and the staff there didn't even bother to look up until I finally asked for help after 10 minutes of being completely ignored (including my the PT I was scheduled with (Priya). The front desk staff didn't arrive until 5 minutes before 8, and Priya did not get to me until 8:15. At this point, I had been waiting for 30 minutes, and came early as instructed only to be if ignored for most of that time. Despite being asked to fill out extensive intake forms before the appointment, it was clear no one read it, as the front desk staff asked if I uploaded my documents (I did) and Priya had no clue about my history of injury, pain level or location, which were all in the paperwork I completed 2 weeks beforehand. The "intake" lasted 20 minutes, during which Priya told me to do various exercises by name, and appeared annoyed when I told her I didn't know what she was referring to. My pain was in the piriformis area, and she mostly pointed out core strengthening exercises and then proceeded to ask if I was "okay" with seeing them twice a week. It was clear she cared more about scheduling the sessions than actually treating me. She never asked exactly where the pain was or even how bad the pain was. This was one of the most unprofessional health related appointments I have had. They were also talking about me as I was standing there a few feet away, at one point Priya saying "okay she can stand there then" when the other staff asked me to sit and I informed her my pain worsens when I sit. Maybe they could be great for others but I am not going to gamble my pain and health with them."
"I came to PT for tennis shoulder injury. Doctor told me I needed reverse shoulder replacement, but Courtney Kinser worked with me, patiently and expertly, for a month and result was near complete improvement. One more month was indicated while putting into practice on the court the key principles learned from Courtney. I look forward to the second and final month of PT and virtual disappearance of shoulder pain during competitive tennis matches. Bob C."
