Testimonials
"Dr. Cooper is an extraordinary individual. I have now had two knee replacements under his care and both times the outcomes have been very positive. While the patient plays a big part in recovery, the surgeon's skill sets the stage from which recuperative efforts are launched. I have no doubts regarding Dr. Cooper's surgical abilities. I would also add that Dr. Cooper is a person who cares about his patients. He relates in a manner that is respectful, affirming and encouraging. He provides information and is very clear that patients make final decisions. Dr. Cooper was recommended to me by a friend who was aware of his reputation. I am pleased now to pass this recommendation forward."
"I feel like I'm a lucky guy for getting to know this man. I needed both my hips replaced from side affects of steroids during chemo treatments. So at first I went to see a different doctor in Columbia hospital, younger man (no names) ... he wanted to schedule me to do it one hip at a time, And when I brought up in the conversation if doing both at the same time is even a option, he responded that they do that but very rarely and only when there is a good reason to. So I thought oh OK so that's off the table I guess. But then before I actually scheduled the surgery, I was told by a family member to go see Dr Cooper. So I did. And even by just talking to both for like 10 minutes, I was already positive that I want Dr Cooper to do my surgery. So then as we talked I kinda brought up again the doing both thing, kinda expecting to hear the same kinda response that it's not really done unless needed etc etc etc... but instead he responded well ya, he tells me I was actually just about to bring it up cause of your age (I'm 40) he says it's probably the better option, cause I'm young enough, over 50 we wouldn't do it unless there is a good reason to, But under 50 it's a very valid option, but I'll have to decide that myself. At first I was shocked that he even entertained the idea, and not only entertain it but even encourage it. He told me it's not uncommon for him at all, he's done 2 plenty of times, and recovery isn't all that much harder. Except the first few days of course are harder, but then the rest of recovery is very much almost the same, and then we'll be done, no 2nd surgery months after this one. But I gotta be honest, I was terrified of the idea. But I decided to trust him and go for it. I figured as bad as it will maybe be, it will be done with at least. So as of me writing this now, it's been exactly 3 weeks from my surgery, it was even during the nurse strike that was going on then. But everything went well. Usually 1 hip replacement you go home that day. But since I did both they told me I'll have to stay a few days. But the day after I asked if I can go home, they said if the physical therapist OKs it I can go. So she made me walk with the walker, go up n down a few steps, teaching proper use of the walker etc etc. And she said OK then if you wanna go home I can clear you. So I went home the day after surgery already. As I was told, it was getting worse the first like 5 days, then it started being better daily, swelling started going down, so my walking got a lot easier, then after like 10 days maybe I ordered myself a cane from Amazon and switched to that slowly. And as of yesterday I could take small steps already without the cane even. So recovery is going in the right direction it looks like. I'm going back today to get the dressings removed etc.. and hopefully I'll be back to walking normally in no time. I'm really grateful to the whole team there. They've all been amazing, everyone was so nice."
"I recently had my right hip replaced, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Cooper and his entire team. This experience has been truly life-changing. From the very first consultation through surgery and recovery, they were consistently thorough, thoughtful, caring, and incredibly kind. Dr. Cooper took the time to explain every step, eased my worries, and made me feel completely supported. His skill, precision, and calm confidence gave me trust from day one -- and my results speak for themselves. I am moving without pain for the first time in years, and I feel like I finally have my life back. The entire team deserves praise as well. Their professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail made all the difference during such an important moment in my life. Every nurse, tech, and staff member made me feel genuinely cared for. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Cooper and his team to anyone considering hip replacement or orthopedic care. They are exceptional at what they do, and I am beyond grateful for the positive impact they've had on my life."
