Testimonials
"Dr. Shafiq is a miracle worker. My son suffered major pelvic fractures after being hit by a bus on his bike in 2023. After a complex surgery performed by Dr. Shafiq, my son has made a total recovery. He is walking and playing sports again as if the accident never happened. We cannot thank you enough, Dr. Shafiq, for your incredible work!"
"I was run over crossing the street, shattering both tibia and fibula. Dr Babar Shafiq performed the surgery - and nothing else. He "forgot" to set up transportation for my apts (since I am non weight bearing). He does not answer or return phone calls. I was sent home from the hospital with only 2 days worth of my pain medication because he "forgot" to send in the prescription, resulting in me being in agony for weeks. I was told he set me up with pain management only to be told he "forgot" and I had to fight for the referral. To this day, about 6 weeks after surgery, I still have yet to have him see me. He even sent his assistant to check me post op, I've only met him once while going into surgery. I also developed an infection, due to him "forgetting" to provide the antibiotic I was promised in the hospital before I left the first time. The resulting infection was life threatening, requiring both IV and oral antibiotics. From my experience, this doctor does not care that I'm trying to live a productive life. All I want is to actually be treated / receive medical care."
"I experienced a traumatic injury to both of my wrists after falling off my roof that required surgery on both arms. I contacted Dr Shafiq's staff the day of accident and he called me back within a few hours. He worked me into his schedule and saw me just a few days later to set up surgery. From the time I spoke with him on the phone all the way through the day after the surgery, Dr Shafiq and his team were incredibly professional, friendly, knowledgeable, caring and competent. He has a very well organized team and they all took very good care of me. Dr. Shafiq was very impressive with his knowledge of my injury and what it would take to correct it. During such a traumatic event and time Dr. Shafiq helped me and my family to feel rest assured that I was in good hands and being cared for."
"Dr Shafiq is a great to the point Doctor. 2 days after surgery and I can say his staff were very attentive to needs before, during, and after my surgery. Having had surgery under different medical system, if forced to compare I would say John Hopkins service is superior. Dr Shafiq is a credit to your institution."
"Dr. Shafiq did a fantastic job of providing excellent medical care to help my son when he got potentially severely injured in a lacrosse game. His expertise and knowledge were crucial to providing my son with the best care possible. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because Dr. Shafiq and his office are not responsive to messages sent through MyChart or email and the office is incredibly busy and at times difficult to schedule with. I'm willing to overlook those inconveniences to make sure my son continues to heal and improve and be able to return to sports."
"Dr.Barbar Shafiq is outstanding Doctor, very helpful even my English is not good enough He will understand because he want help so much . I have never seen any Doctor before, to go out his way to recommend another Doctor, in a foreign country. My daughter had surgery by Dr. Shafiq She leave's in Africa, for a follow up treatment He recommended her a good Doctor in Africa We are very grateful, thank you so much for All the help, God Bless you."
"My experience with Dr shafiq made me feel vary safe. I had a bad femur break and he took his time to explain everything vary clear even after surgery came to see in my room and went over it with me to top it off he had me come in bfor his vacation just to look at my leg to b sure it was healing properly also everyone at the hospital was very pleasant and prompt"
"I broke my tibia, fibula, and ankle roofing in October and was flown via medevac to John's Hopkins Medical center trauma unit. The bones were sticking out and it was a pretty gruesome injury, but Dr. Babar Shafiq was able to perform an external fixation of my leg to stabilize it and then about a week later I went in for the internal fixation where they put 2 rods, a plate and many screws into my leg. It's been about 3 months since that, and I walk without a limp and only deal with muscular pain after I do strenuous activities such as physical therapy or very long walks but it is improving. He did a tremendous job and acted like it was a walk in the park kind of surgery. I'm sure he does more than just trauma surgery, but I'd definitely recommend him to anybody that needs an orthopedic doctor!"
