"Glad to live within distance to this hospital. As a mother with a child with a rare genetic disorder I have had a lot of experience with Hopkins. More emergency room visits than admission thankfully. I've also had some run ins with my healthy children. And seen both as well. I will say if you are here reading reviews about the hospital it's not the best place to decide if you want to visit. What I've learned in advocating for my children is that you have to be an active participant in what is happening to you or family in any hospital. I've had some great experiences and also some very strange ones. The one thing I can rely on is the ability to take an active role in emergency care. This is my favorite part about Hopkins. Having access to highly intelligent qualified people who are willing to have hard conversations. Enough bedside manner to give me the time that I need to process hard information. And continue to provide quality service in the midst of their own life and sometimes ego."
"This hospital is only about money. They do everything they can to charge you more money. They set me up on home infusions for antibiotics for infection in my amputated leg and sent me the antibiotics and sent me a new batch every Thursday. after a few weeks when they changed bandages they said I was ready for a skin graft. So they had me come in on a Tuesday for the graft and since antibiotics that they sent me has an Expiration date and I only had enough to last me until Thursday, which is a day. I brought the antibiotics with me because they're very expensive and I had to pay for them out-of-pocket. I showed up for my surgery and a half hour before I went into surgery. I did one of my infusions because it was due at 3 o'clock after I got out of the surgery a few hours later I use one of my Infusions in the room, they put me in eight hours later I did another infusion in my room. But these antibiotics have to be cold and stay cold so I asked them to put them in the refrigerator. Eight hours later when I was ready to do my next infusion. I asked them to bring me my bag and they told me they can't give me the antibiotic that they sent me that I have to take their antibiotics here in the hospital so basically they wanna double charge my insurance company and me because this all comes out of my pocket whatever insurance doesn't cover. They sent me these antibiotics so they know there's nothing wrong with them but because I'm in the hospital they're saying it's not as good as the way we administered them so you can't use the stuff that you already paid for. After I'm done with These procedures and my amputated leg is squared away. I will never walk myself into any Jon Hopkins ever again one of the worst hospitals I've ever been in. I have three different teams, infectious disease, plastic surgery reconstruction And orthopedics and none of those teams talk to each other apparently. They treat you like you're six years old. You can't get a straight Answer out of anyone I would not recommend this hospital to anybody"
"My brother was placed in Hopkins for treatment of advanced cancer care. I have never encountered more kind and concerned doctors and nurses in my life. These doctors and nurses are amongst the best and give my brother the same time and expertise one might expect a celebrity to receive. The doctors confer amongst each other to produce the best outcome for him using their vast knowledge. Naturally I am sorry that cancer is a part of my brother's life but am happy he chose Johns Hopkins. My Johns Hopkins sweatshirt is no longer just a cool shirt I wear, but a tangible reminder to me of the many people playing a part in my brother's life."
"I'd rather drive an hour and half to this hospital. Absolutely hands down the best of the best. Their doctors nurses faculty, from all of them you name it. Super polite and show a lot of sympathy for you. I don't care how long they take because their care is quality not quantity"
"My husband had surgery here earlier this year. Our experience was such a relief. The staff, nurses and doctors were all incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The process was well organized. We really appreciated how a stressful surgery was made so much easier by the staff and processes."
"Rude and uncaring front desk staff. First they made me wait for 20 minutes for a wheelchair as I was in a boot for my ankle fracture. I finally got up to walk so that I can make it to my appointment in time. When I came to the second front desk to get a badge the two ladies that were at the desk yelled at me that I cut in line even though I was the first in line but just waiting a couple of feet to the right of the desk and they didn't see me waiting there. They made me go to the back of the line and wait for four people to be processed even though those four people arrived after I did. So I waited another 20 minutes in pain with no wheelchair. I wanted to get their names, so I attempted to take a picture of one of their badges. They became agitated that I took the picture. Then, I got my badge and went to the doctor's office and next thing I know they sent a police officer into the exam room to make sure I delete the picture of the badge. That is exactly what I did. They watched me delete the photos. They never addressed the rude and uncaring way I was treated by their front office staff in the hospital and that includes their manager."
"Terrible experience the last Tuesday November 18 , the doctor said different things and the boss said different things, they denied take a RX to my little son (7 years old) they said he is perfect don't have any problems. I arrived at 12:30 am and we done 5:30 am. Just bring 10 stars for Dra. Rihana from Portugal, she so so sweet, professional and very nice and beautiful. No more back to ER the Johns Hopkins. Terrible experience all the times but no more."
