Testimonials

Jennifer Bester

"As a hEDS/HSD patient who has undergone several orthopedic surgeries and subsequent rehabilitation, I highly recommend Megan to anyone who is seeking personalized care. Megan looks holistically at patient movement to determine the deeper cause of overcompensation and imbalance. Megan's guidance on strength training exercises done outside of my appointments keeps me honest and motivated. Megan realizes that regaining 80%- 90% range of motion post-operatively for an hEDS/HSD patient is not an indicator of successful rehabilitation."

"I am not exaggerating when I say Megan saved my life. I was in a health crisis with intractable pain, dysautonomia, motion sickness, and had lost my ability to function in my daily life. Megan started us off with baby steps, working on stabilizing the motion sickness and gently working toward manageable PT for my chronic pain issues. I have made progress with Megan that I never thought would have been possible. She understands hypermobility and chronic illness on a deep level and is incredibly talented at finding the best ways to treat and manage them. Some of the things that set Megan apart for me: 1) she helped me find ways to make PT enjoyable and actually do it at home, 2) she has helped me learn fundamental things like how to properly bend, which I could not comprehend before due to proprioception issues, 3) she is an incredibly caring, compassionate, and understanding person. Thank you Megan for everything you do!"

"I am deeply grateful for the outstanding care and expertise provided by Megan Barker. As the parent of an elite-level dancer, I've seen how essential it is to have a physical therapist who not only supports recovery from injury but also focuses on injury prevention and long-term strength. Her ability to present exercises in a fun, challenging, and engaging way keeps my dancer motivated and focused. Megan combines professionalism, deep knowledge, and a warm, encouraging approach. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking thoughtful, comprehensive physical therapy--whether for recovery, injury prevention, or performance enhancement."

"Megan is by far one of the best physical therapists I've ever worked with. She is extremely patient and attentive to whatever needs I have. She is very analytical and uses that to dissect whatever problem or pain you are experiencing. Her technique is to approach you with care in a way that makes you feel safe and comfortable. It's a much more holistic experience than other practitioners because she understands the mind-body connection, and helps you ease into feeling safe with movement again. All in all she is a lovely, kind and giving person!"

"I cannot recommend Megan enough! She is so incredibly knowledgeable and kind and compassionate and offered affirming care at my pace. As someone diagnosed with hypermobility within just the past couple of years, I had always assumed my body worked the way everyone else's did, I did not think I would ever find a physical therapist who could actually offer meaningful adjustments and accommodations that would improve my quality of life - Megan did just that! Working with her, she supported my journey, offering check ins and specifics about compression wear that I might try to support my body and its lack of proprioception, and charts to detail specific exercises as she taught them to me. Also I think it's worth mentioning, living in a plus size body and with a history of movement not feeling safe for my nervous system - Megan always offered invitations to check in with myself and never made me feel judged or less than or shamed me because of weight or shape or pain levels. Instead, when I threw a vague and unsure statement of "hey, is this supposed to <hurt / click / etc> when I ....?" Megan was able to watch how my body and muscles moved and offer concrete suggestions in kind and affirming educational ways that helped me to better understand how and why my body existed the way it did. And how to improve it. I can't even count the number of times she added a single exercise to activate a muscle group, and immediately alleviated chronic pain. The world needs more providers like Megan! Thank you so much for all of your help!"

"My daughter had a dance injury and Megan's holistic approach not only addressed the problem but helped prevent further injury. Megan is amazing- she truly cares for every patient and gives them individualized care and attention."

"I highly recommend Megan Barker PT at Rhythm Health LLC, especially if you have hypermobility! From the initial online meet and greet, I felt truly heard, validated, and understood regarding my symptoms and concerns. The in-person evaluation was incredibly thorough, and the exercises Megan prescribed were refreshingly approachable. It's rare to find a provider who genuinely listens and tailors treatment so effectively for hypermobility. A fantastic experience all around!"

Rebecca Winerman

"Highly recommend Megan as a physical therapist for individuals with hypermobility. Megan helped me address back/neck pain that I'd been living with for decades -- including issues that my past PTs couldn't help resolve. I wish I'd found her sooner!"
