"Well let's say so far custodians are horrible. I am not sure where everyone gets the review of the cleanliness. My love one first day there after being told the room would be cleaned to perfection was the untruth. White blinds are actually grayish black, privacy curtain dirty, borders of floor extremely dirty, air conditioner vent dusty. Administration staff have horrible customer service and don't properly know their job. After several weeks let's just say the room still dirty but they did get the dead roach off the floor finally. Update its amazing how far a review can go. I get a response after you all only took took the curtain down and forgot to replace it. Had to be told by supervisor to put it back up. Thanks to the maintenance personal who did come and assist today 2/25/26 he was so lost on what was going on. How about now check the blinds and the air conditioner now for the people that are still there."
"It was a bit of a rough start when I first moved in here. Several hours would pass before I could get my diaper changed. When I shared this with my sister, they started being held accountable and it was taking less time before diaper changes were done. As I started going to therapy, they would always make sure that I was changed before going and when I got back from therapy. They encouraged me to start using the rest room on my own. Now I use the toilet and don't need a diaper change."
"Food : home cooked type food, very soft. Positive: lots of activities for pts to get involved in daily. Negative: the staff always shouting in hallways, and some with attitudes and smart remarks when you ask questions. This is an Old building and no new improvements to update. Furniture falling apart. Staff: Some extremely Rude and others very nice and extremely helpful. Thanks to all the nice ones making a difference with care. Some just pulling diapers off and not turning properly. Please visit your loved ones in any facility even if they find it annoying. Hospice: Do Not put on Hospice until they not eating, the staff will give Morphine instead of the tylenol protocol when it is not needed oversedating so they will not eat or drink. Then lie about it."
"Deserves less than "0" Stars. My brothers recent visit to Oakwood Care Center in Middle River was nothing short of atrocious. The facility is run down, dirty and and from my view the patients do not get the care they need.We had to immediately clean the room, there was trash on the floor, everything is broken down. My brothers bed was broken for days. If I would have left my brother there he would have died there. Left on bed pan for hours, wet linens left on bed, did not address his wounds and was told when he asked for a blanket that there "were no blankets". In my opinion this facility should be closed. Thank God we found a better facility that actually cares for him and his well being. Please do your research when selecting a facility before sending your loved one."
"Very understaffed; there's 130 patients here. Some staff are rude and sometimes ones at the desk don't acknowledge that you are there but some are nice and do acknowledge you! The one staff guy would bring my relative their medication on time but the other staff make them wait longer. The place is clean tho. They have nice rooms, bathrooms, waiting area, and outdoor yard for the patients to get fresh air. They do activities like watch tv, give you books you want, coloring books, little bracelets to put together, they did taco night where you make food, there's a calendar full of activities but because of Covid, some are limited. Grace the head staff is very attentive, clean, respectful and answers any questions we had. I understand they do the best they can too... I just wish there were more staff and some staff that sit at the desk when you walk in the door were more friendly and welcoming. It's a good place altogether."
"I see that all these complaints but no one is reporting this to Adult Protective Service , Long term Care Ombudsman for abuse and neglect, State department of Health for licensing issue or 911 immediate danger , these are some nice pictures to send, gather specific details(date, names, and evidence) to support your complain, as reporting channels vary by state but focus on the state health/social service agencies and ombudsmen. review the facilities grievance policy; they must provide one and respond. keep records and check on the status of your compliant weekly. Get legal assistance. Then call Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The Maryland Department of Health's Office of Health Care Quality is the primary state agency that regulates facilities, licensing, surveying and investigating complaints. Code of Maryland Regulations(COMAR) 10.07.14. From these complaints this facility will be getting special visitors, news cast, and letters sent to them about this abusive and neglectful facility. A few of friends work for the listed place I suggest to you to file complaints. Start following the process asap. The Director will be getting a phone call soon. I hope they love their jobs and licenses. It's in danger at this point. For future references take pictures of the sleeping and personal gathering meetings. I hope this will help."
"This place shouldn't be responsible for an alley rat much less human beings the walls are filthy, they serve the pts under cooked food and the staff will ignore your loved ones needs for hours the call light will right with no answer until the next shift. This place deserves -10 stars CLOSE IT DOWN"
"The staff are very friendly. When I visited my Mom this morning she was dressed and walking about with her walker. We are about to celebrate her 95th Birthday in four months!"
