"Over a decade ago on a Sunday afternoon I fractured my hip in a bicycle accident. While I was waiting in the local hospital for the final diagnosis, I called a friend who I knew had recently undergone a hip replacement. He assured me he knew the best orthopedic surgeon. Within 45 minutes I received a call from Dr. Macaulay. He simply said, "Don't worry, I will take care of you." And since then, he's done exactly that. A hip replacement and two partial knee replacements. Before I had my first partial knee replacement, I went to another venerable institution, and they told me I needed a full knee replacement. However, Dr. Macaulay said there was no need to have a full, a partial would be best. And it has been 8 years later. I greatly appreciate his conservative approach as well as his remarkable skills and his commanding, reassuring presence that all will work out. And it has for me and many others I have referred to this remarkable doctor! ."
