Testimonials
"Dr Slabaugh provided wonderful surgical treatment for my torn rotator cuff. He was very attentive and prompt in all his communication. He worked closely with my physiotherapist to ensure a succesful period of post-op rehab. All the necessary medications were prescribed before the surgery including a recommendation for vitamins. It has been a very positive experience."
"I was planning to have my rotator cuff repair surgery with a top surgeon in Vail, Colorado, but came to my senses and decided to speak with some local doctors before scheduling. Dr. Slabaugh was my first, and only, interview in Maryland. I trusted him, almost immediately, to help me, and he has proven that my trust was well-placed. I am 7 months out from my surgery and I'm feeling so good... still building strength, but, for the first time in years, I can trust that I'm not going to be in pain for days or weeks after exercise! I'm so grateful to Dr. Slabaugh (and Akin and Victoria) and will always recommend them to anyone I meet who needs their help! The entire team gets a 5-star rating from me. I cannot thank them enough."
"I'm a 70 year old who had a serious rotator cuff injury. At first, I was reluctant to have surgery. Dr. Slabaugh suggested that I consider it as it will not get better on its own and recovery gets harder as one gets older. So, I did have the surgery and I am so grateful that I did. I'm five months out and my shoulder feels terrific. Dr. Slabough and his team are Wonderfull! I would strongly recommend Dr. Slabough for any shoulder issues one might have. PS While he was in the neighborhood, he also repaired a damaged bicep tendon from 20 years ago!!"
"I'm a sixty-nine-year-old male that injured my shoulder playing volleyball. I selected Dr. Slabaugh because he specialized in Sports Medicine. He was very helpful in guiding me in the choices that were available to repair my shoulder. He suggested a total replacement. I had my surgery in late May and after months of rehab, I was back on the court playing by early November. I would recommend Dr. Slabaugh for any sports-related injuries that you may have. I'm so grateful for him getting me through this issue as it was the first real major injury that I have ever had. Thank you so much."
"I was referred to Dr. Slabaugh in the Spring of 2024 for an issue with limited range of motion and pain in my shoulder which turned out to be a torn rotator cuff and bicep tendonitis. Dr. Slabaugh was extremely patient with me. He knew surgery was needed, but after having 3 procedures in 4 years, I was very reluctant to have another procedure. He understood this and allowed me to pursue physical therapy. About 5 months later, after spending a day holding my newest niece, my shoulder was in so much pain, I was in tears. On my next visit, we talked about this and he reminded me that PT would not resolve my issue, at this point I told him that I was ready for surgery. What I appreciated the most with Dr. Slabaugh was his directness and honest assessment of my issue, and his patience. He did not force surgery on me, but allowed me to make my own decision. Once the decision was made, the surgery was scheduled based on my availability. Prior to surgery, he was extremely clear about the recovery and what to expect and recommended that I add vitamin B to aid recovery, given my age (I am not a spring chicken). During the procedure, he discovered that the bicep was also torn and he was able to repair the bicep at the same time. The procedure went off without a hiccup. Six months later, I have about 95% use of my arm.He advised that I would need to incorporate shoulder stretches into my life and that full recovery is about 6more months out - when I will be able to swim again. The Physical Therapist team also had nothing but great things to say about Dr. Slabaugh. All in all, working with Dr. Slabaugh was a wonderful experience. I had a doctor, who listened to me and who looked me in the eye when he spoke to me. It felt like I had a partner in resolving my issue and not someone who dictated my care. I am so grateful for the care and successful surgery!!!"
"I'm a physical therapist and I've had the opportunity to work with many of Dr. Slabaugh's patients (post-op and non-op). He's excellent at what he does, is very easy to communicate with, and his patients have excellent results. I highly recommend Dr. Slabaugh!"
"Dr. Slabaugh performed surgery on my shoulder after experiencing intense pain every day for years. Since the surgery I have had no pain and have fully regained my strength."
"Dr.Slabaugh performed reconstruction surgery on my son Connor. The surgery was a total success. The doctors manner, dedication and knowledge is unquestionable for knee surgery. It was a 5/6 month journey and Connor is 100 percent and back on the field. Dr. Slabaugh also helped me with a hip procedure, while treating my son. He's the best. Thank you."
