"The staff , most of the employees were kind and helpful , especially the nurses and CNAs who always had a smile and was willing to assist. The therapy team was knowledgeable and patient. They really took the time to explain each step. I felt like they put the effort into making the environment welcoming. They made me feel supported and cared for every step of the way."

"I have had the pleasure of dealing with Mr. Danial Parker (Admissions Director) and with Ms. Firdous Ahmad (CNA) at The Grove of Evanston and I found them both to be of utmost skills, abilities, friendly and supportive attitude & professionalism in their respective fields. I congratulate both of them for being of such great value and assistance to their clients and for being exemplary team members of the organization. I hope my appreciation goes far beyond a casual overview is added to their annual performance reports for their promotions and rewards. Well done Danial & Firdous, keep up the good work always. Thank you & Happy Thanks Giving..."

"I can't say enough positive things about the staff here, especially Gloria, Veronica, Olayinka, Chris, Guillen, and Mercy. Their pleasant and professional manner makes my experience here extremely bearable. Ron, Joseph, Amanda, Miriam, and the other therapists are very encouraging and uplifting in their work, which makes therapy seem like less of a chore."

"I came to visit a family friend here at the grove of evanston just yesterday and I would say its a nice facility to start with. One of the staff nurse at 3rd floor , edel as I remember is caring and attentive to her patient as I was observing the staff here. Although some of the CNa's are on their phones while on the hallway. But what really caught my attention , this lady wearing Big Star costume , walking around and cheerfully greeting the patients one by one and inside their room. Not sure her name was, but whatever this Star lady is doing , I think she is doing great with this act, making them happy and smiling and its contagious coz I left the building with a big smile on my face and it made my day too! I would say , this grove of evanston facility has a friendly atmosphere to top it all."

"I stayed at the grove and found that every inch of my room was covered in fecal matter. I had to bleach the room myself. the medical staff almost killed me making critical mistakes with my medication. I noticed the nurses were selective of who they checked for bed sores. A neighboring tenant broke into my room in the night and went unpunished. They violated 17 of my patient rights while I stayed there including opening my mail and not allowing me to vote on voting day. there were no amenties to speak of. the website said there was a salon but theres just a janitor with rusty clippers."

"If you're considering The Grove of Evanston for your loved one, I strongly encourage you to pay close attention during your visit--and maybe stay longer than the standard tour allows. Let's start with the basics: clean rooms. Unfortunately, that's hit or miss here. More often than not, rooms seem to be cleaned on a "when we get to it" basis. Trash left too long, spills ignored, and personal belongings out of place were not uncommon during my visits. For a facility that should be prioritizing cleanliness and dignity, this was a letdown. Now, the CNAs. While I'm sure there are a few who care, many come across as disengaged at best, lazy at worst. Requests for assistance are often met with eye-rolls, delays, or are outright ignored. You get the sense that some staff members are more interested in checking their phones than checking on residents. And then there's the activity aide--one in particular--whose attitude is nothing short of unprofessional. I witnessed them speak rudely to a resident in front of others, showing no patience or empathy. What made this even more shocking was that the HR director was right there, chatting away with the receptionist, and witnessed the entire exchange. She didn't say a word. No intervention, no concern--just business as usual, apparently. To be fair, I don't want to paint the entire facility with the same brush. The social services team was the one bright spot. They were responsive, compassionate, and truly seemed to advocate for the residents. It's a shame the same can't be said across the board. Bottom line: If your standards for care are higher than just the bare minimum, you may want to keep looking."

"This is my second time at The Grove of Evanston, the first time was due to a broken ankle, my most recent visit is because of a meniscus tear. Both stays have been pleasant. The staff is friendly and takes care of your needs, which is especially important if you're bedbound. If you're looking for an inpatient rehab facility, The Grove of Evanston is the perfect place."

"My stay here at The Grove these last 2 months has been going well. Nurses Maria, Christine, and Annabel are great to work with... they are caring, dependable, and reliable. Irah (I hope that's how she spells her name; If not, I'm sorry) is a great CNA. she's attentive to what my needs are with grooming, keeping my room clean, and ensured that I stayed safe while I was out of bed. Eneth is a great night shift CNA; she's quiet, respectful, and knows what needs to be done and when it needs to be done. There are a few other CNa's like that here, but I can't remember their names. For me, it's hard to communicate with a few members thanks to a language barrier, but in the end, things get done. The therapy department has a good staff and took excellent care of me. The same can be said about the wound care team. The food is fair to good, depending on my taste buds, what''s being made, and who's doing the cooking. the building needs a better air conditioning system tho. The hallways and the dinning room seems to get pretty warm, maybe even hot at times. Overall, being at at The Grove has been a good place to be at."
