"Dr. Long replaced my hip 5 years ago. All has gone well and he has always been great to work with. At my two year follow up, I was told to see him again at the 5 year point. I called to schedule this recommended visit and was told that he no longer takes my insurance. which is Medicare and Empire Plan/Nyship as secondary. I was told that I could seek another HSS ortho who does take my coverage, but it just doesn't feel right to start with another MD who had nothing to do with my original surgery. This is not a complaint about Dr. Long , but as I said, I'm very disappointed that I cannot see him for his recommended follow up."
