"So this is a day in the life of being a resident at Zahav of Berwyn. I've been asking for three days for someone to come and empty my garbage can -- still nothing. Every time I ask, I'm told I should've said something sooner, even though I've been asking for the past two days straight. THE ORGANIZATION REPLY TO COMMENT PHONE NUMBER IS DISCONNECTED I also asked for sanitation wipes -- apparently they don't have any. I asked for a mop and broom so I could clean myself, but that request was brushed off too. They don't even have enough CNAs to do a simple linen change, so I've been making my own bed. Here are photos and short video clips showing the current state of my room. I'm sharing this because residents deserve basic cleanliness and dignity -- especially in a care facility. And to be completely honest, this is only scratching the surface of the many, many, many, many instances of medical negligence, unprofessional behavior, and unsanitary practices that go on here every single day. I'm a current resident, and I know that posting this will probably lead to threats, intimidation, or bullying tactics from the facility -- but at this point, a person can only take so much. Someone has to speak up about what's really happening here. It's a real shame, because there actually are a few genuinely good employees here -- both nurses and incredable CNAs -- along with some wonderful residents who truly deserve better. Unfortunately, the ownership and leadership are terrible. They seem more focused on squeezing every last penny than on investing in the comfort, care, and dignity of the people who live here. I will not be silenced. I will not be shut down. And I will not allow myself to be demonized or labeled as a "behavioral problem" simply for speaking the truth and calling out the powers in charge for their incompetence. Every resident here deserves better -- and I refuse to stay quiet about it."

"DO NOT !!! AND I MEAN DO NOT COME HERE!!!! YOU WILL NEVER GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER FROM ANYONE. FRONT DESK GIRL IS THE MOST IGNORANT PERSON YOU WILL EVER MEET. PEOPLE IN CHARGE TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. IF YOU DO COME HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!. LIKE WHY IS IT THAT THEY DON'T HAVE SUPPLIES AVAILABLE SOMETHING SIMPLE LIKE TOILET PAPER YES TOILET PAPER. IF YOU WANT MORE PROOF LOOK AT MEDICARE'S OVERALL RATING OF ONE . WHEN IT COMES TO MEDICINES YOU WILL ALWAYS HEAR "IT'S NOT HERE YET, WE'LL CALL THE PHARMACY,AND THE MOST FAMOUS LINE LET ME GO GET SOME FROM SOMEONE ELSE" WHICH I DO BELIEVE IS ILLEGAL IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN."

"I'm extremely disappointed and heartbroken by the care my grandfather received at this facility. The staff were inattentive, and my grandfather was often left unattended for long periods, even when he needed assistance with basic needs like eating, toileting, and moving. There were numerous instances where calls for help went unanswered, and we had to bring attention to his needs repeatedly before they were addressed, I observed unsanitary conditions in his room, which only added to the stress and worry we felt. Communication with management was difficult, and they seemed more interested in covering up issues than addressing them. It's incredibly upsetting that a place that is supposed to provide care and support for vulnerable individuals failed to do so, and my grandfather suffered because of it. I would not recommend this rehab home to anyone, and we are doing everything we can to make sure no one else has to go through what we did."

"My family member had a positive rehab experience. The nurses and therapists were caring and professional, and the facility was clean and comfortable. We appreciate their support during the recovery process."

"Not off to a good start after moving my step brother to your facility. He's only been there a few days and now you want to move him from a room by himself to a shared room? TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Having a room to himself is the only reason I moved him there. Now Rebecca and the Administrator aren't answering my calls regarding this. Not happy! Please take pride in your business - that is how you will succeed!"

"The nursing staff were very kind and helpful while I was visiting with my loved one. My loved one looked very nice. Her skin was glowing and she was celebrating her 90th year birthday. The staff took her birthday cards and balloons to her room for me. Thank you for your service."

"My mom has been there since July 2023. She has dementia and can't walk also they have to feed her. The staff takes very good care of her and are Welcoming and polite. She was under hospice care when she first came to your facility and as of February 2024 they took her off of hospice and I feel the staff does a very good job."

"I'm updating my review of the Zahav of Berwyn not because my dad had catastrophic stroke that eventually led to his death while in the care of these people.... I'm updating it because what has happened since my dad's stroke and death. I called multiple times to try to speak to my dad's social worker in order to set up a time to gather my dad's belongings. Normally I haven't had any problems getting a hold of someone. After a few days someone new to the location called ASKING ME for an update on my dad's condition. I told her he died and I've reached out to you guys multiple times. I, then, received a call from his social worker and when I missed the call, she left a vm apologizing for my dad having "expired" and asked I call her back. I called back. Twice. No response. I became too upset over the whole thing and asked my husband to please step in to see if he could get ahold of someone. He called multiple times to also no response until he just went over this morning. When asked for my dad's social worker he was told she'd be in soon. He sat down and waited. He again approached the desk and the receptionist (whole time on her cell phone) asked a worker walking by "Maldonado- are those his things in the hallway downstairs?" That was the punch to the gut that I needed during this time of mourning. When my father stopped being a paycheck he stopped being a person to you people. My father was not an object with an expiration date. I would have gladly folded his belongings and taken them instead they were thrown in a basement hallway like garbage. Which isn't that a fire code? Boxes in the hallway? I was there. All the time. The employees knew me. I took in thank you gifts and treated everyone pleasantly because they took care of the only living parent I had left, I'm an only child. I feel bad for the patients who don't have family to check in on them. The only redeeming person was the young employee with dreads who the receptionist asked about my father's things. He brought them out and shook my husband's hand and gave his condolences. THAT WAS RESPECT. Teach your employees some damn sensitivity training."
