Testimonials
"These people are amazing. I might definitely intentionally get sick and go there again. They are so welcoming and warm. I was a walk-in patient, and they squeezed me into their schedule. My wait time was less than 15mins; for a health facility, that's fantastic. From the amazing front desk team (Pam and the people who sit behind her) to the medical staff, I've got no complaints. I 100% recommend this place to anyone."
"I watched two different members of staff manually enter in my updated insurance information, and one of them even "deleted" my old insurance info to avoid confusion. They still sent my bill to the old insurance somehow. My provider insisted that my UnitedHealthcare insurance fell under Medicaid and I would pay nothing for my bills, even though it was definitely NOT Medicaid and I ended up paying $200-$400 out of pocket, including for blood tests I tried to refuse at first because I knew they'd be costly."
"I've had to come to the student health center for multiple school medical/ clearance requirements. Ms. Pam and Ms. Keisha, at the front desk, have been so amazing and delightful. Every time I go, I am greeted with friendly smiles and warm greetings. I always receive the things I need. Ms. Pam and Ms. Keisha make me feel so comfortable, and I am really appreciative of them as I prepare for the next academic year. Every time I've gone, I simply walked in with no appointment and have thankfully been quickly seen by a provider in each circumstance."
"Great staff, super helpful and efficient. Better than figuring out how to get the right help at regular hospital / care center. I called the day before and scheduled my appointment. Ms. Andrea, Nurse Danielle, NP Nnadi and the rest of the staff were really cool sweet and funny. I was concerned about the negative reviews but wish I had gone here to begin with. Everything was in office and they knew what I needed for my paperwork."
"Title: A Disappointing Hospital Experience: Communication Woes Rating: My recent hospital visit was, unfortunately, one of the worst experiences I have had. It is disheartening to say that the hospital failed to pick up calls, which greatly impacted the overall quality of care and created immense frustration. From the moment I tried to reach out to the hospital, it felt like a never-ending battle. Whether it was to book an appointment, inquire about test results, or seek clarification on a medical concern, I was met with endless ringing and no response. This lack of communication made me feel neglected as a patient in need of attention and support. It is essential for hospitals to prioritize effective communication channels, especially when patients' well-being is at stake. Promptly responding to calls can make a significant difference in managing and addressing patients' concerns, reducing anxiety, and ensuring a smooth healthcare experience. While it is understandable that hospitals face high call volumes and staffing challenges, there should be systems in place to manage these issues effectively. my experience with this hospital was marred by the frustrating lack of responsiveness over the phone. While the medical care provided during the physical visit was commendable, the inability to pick up calls hindered the overall quality of my experience. I hope the hospital takes necessary steps to rectify this issue, as effective communication is an integral part of providing exceptional healthcare services."
"Unfortunately, I have to agree with the other reviews about my experience with the student health center here at Howard University. From the moment I walked in, the women in the front acted as if I was a bother; the first one did not even look my way when I stopped at her window and the other seemed annoyed. As the other reviewers stated, there is ABSOLUTELY NO privacy. I have never been required to share the entire nature of me wanting to schedule an appointment when I'm making it with a secretary. Because she claimed she could not hear me, I had to yell all of my private information for the entire office to hear. All I wanted was a wellness visit and a wellness visit is exactly that; no one had ever asked me why before. Any further concerns I had, I wanted to voice to doctors, nurses, and/or medical technicians only, during the visit and I don't know why that isn't understood amongst the staff. It's embarrassing to have to air out your private issues like that"
"I came with some complications wasn't sure or hopeful they'd be able to help me, but immediately when I walked in Ebonie helped me with my first issue, but I decided to see if I could be squeezed in for an appointment and Ms. Odette and Eboni worked together to get me an appointment. Ms. Odette was so friendly and helpful! I'm from the south, so I'm used to southern hospitality and I've gotten so used to bad service in this area. Sooo I was pleasantly surprised with how welcoming, caring and considerate these two were! The MA Dani and the Doctor Nadie also took great care for me. I wish I had been coming here more often as a student to see these great ladies!"
"I didn't think my first impression would be this disappointing. I read the reviews but gave the entire clinic/staff the benefit of the doubt. Front desk was rude and unprofessional. I've work and study in the health allied field and front desk is the face of the office! I came in 3min before the office opens and had one question to ask but she was rude about it and basically didn't answer because it wasn't 830a on the dot. I noticed she didn't greet with a good morning to me or another patient and after registering me told me to go around, however, I was a first time patient and did not know where around was. Please give directions. I'm giving it 3 stars ONLY BECAUSE of nurse Menette and the phlebotomist Fri made it a good experience!! Besides that, please, if you don't like your job resign. Miserable staff = bitter patient = negative atmosphere."
