"I had ACL "repair" surgery with Dr. Difelice in 2024. Unfortunately, my outcome was very disappointing. Within a year, my ACL became stretched and unstable again, and several other surgeons and physical therapists told me this should not have happened. I eventually had to undergo another surgery this year, full ACL reconstruction, with a different surgeon, which meant going through all the pain, recovery, and rehabilitation a second time. I'm sharing my experience so that others can make fully informed decisions. I wish I had known more about the surgeon's outcomes and techniques before my procedure. I recommend seeking multiple opinions and asking detailed questions about success rates and follow-up care."
"I've been a patient of Dr. Difelice since Feb 2024 when he did my initial evaluation. I opted for a primary repair after a thorough consultation and additional appts to feel good about the path forward. I came to Dr. D after another surgeon at HSS gave me an entire surgery plan without even done any imaging yet. A red flag to me that a doctor would make a plan without data... unlike Dr. Difelice who used the MRI to understand my exact tear type/location and build a surgery plan based off my knee. It was so great to feel that I had bespoke and thoughtful approach to a huge moment in my physical journey. Plus, I saw Dr. D for EVERY SINGLE APPOINTMENT from Feb 2024 to my annual eval in July 2025!!!! Incredible bedside to stay the course with his patients. I'm back and feeling stronger than ever!
