"She was very rude and felt like I was being put through the fifth degree. I have major bone problems and in severe pain daily. I can't walk without walker and mostly wheelchair at home cause it is too painful walking. The dr made me feel like a junky asking for medication. I want to thank the junkies for ruining my life. This medication makes me able to function without being placed in a nursing home cause that's where I'd have to go if I don't have pain medication. But this dr would only want to give me 5 mg which is a joke and that is nothing compared to what I've been taking. I haven't walked without assistance since I was 28 years old and I'm 57 now so after surgeries and osteomalacia which is a very painful bone disease if she would of looked it up and on top of that osteoarthritis has eaten away my cartilage in both knees and hood and shoulders but she acted like I was making pain up . I'm just disgusted with doctors who have no clue the suffering I face everyday when I get up and sleeping is not treat either with spikes feeling like they're coming out of your hips! I wish luck to anyone who is in real pain you get the help you need! This pill problem is the reason people are dying cause when doctors turn you down they run to the city and who knows what they put in pills. But that's the reason they die. But I would never go to city cause I feel I have legit medical issues but I guess if my bones aren't in half coming out my skin then they make light of your situation."
"After you read my review, I believe you will dismiss the low reviews, because it takes a special person to work in the Pain industry, especially if your licensed to prescribe opioids at small doses to your patients and they do not listen to her directions. This is very sad to hear when sitting in the waiting room while Dr. Gao has to explain why she can't legally give the patient more opioids. I've been seeing Dr. Gao for 15 - 20 years to deal with my Degenerative Low back Condition and still see her after 4 Major back surgeries. If not for Dr. Goa's desire to make sure that I continue to only take the prescribed minimum Opioid dose. We tried on 3 separate times to halve my medicine due to worsening symptoms and after each time we determined that I had Spinal Stenosis once again that required another surgery on the next Lumbar Vertebrae up. She would order an MRI and we would find that I needed another Surgery. Dr. Gao has kept me on the same dose of my meds for as long as I've been seeing her and whenever I try to lower my dose any further, I find myself unable to work, so we have come to understand that I am dependent on the minimal dose I'm prescribed and have continued to take at my 8 hour intervals. YES, I am still working because of Dr. Cathy X. Gao, after 4 Major Surgeries, because of her genuine care for my well-being and the time she has spent with myself and my wife to understand my condition and why my body only works well with this one cheap medication. I am Thankful to God that I found her after several terrible experiences with 2 other Pain managers."
"I had a pretty awful experience. The office was a "2 man" situation. I was told I need to stop eating and feed my "underweight" daughter my food. This appt was for myself, not my daughter. I had all my paperwork from my previous pain specialist in another state and was asked the same questions over and over. The Dr was actually upset my last pain specialist sent "too much stuff". I was asked why I was in pain, I explained I have lupus, ra, degenerate disc disease. She asked me why? I honestly had no idea how to even answer this. I walked out crying."
"The absolute worst "pain management " doctor. No personality and is totally out of touch with pain syndromes. Her receptionist is also the nurse. Don't waste your time with her. National Pain and Spine Center in Glen Burnie is the best doctors and they offer a multitude of different types of treatment. From medication to a facet shot. Dr. Gao stands worst"
