Inova Alexandria Hospital

"WOW......where do I start? From the time I checked in, to the time I checked out, I received nothing but EXCEPTIONAL service! I went in barely able to walk, because I was in so much pain. I ended up needing surgery. At one point, things seemed safely rushed, but that is what needed to happen in order for the staff to meet the needs of all of the patients and they did just that. I watched the staff go from patient to patient making sure that each patient was comfortable and had everything they need as well as answering all questions. They smiled and worked. When I first looked at the Hospital reviews, I did not want to go because of all of the bad reviews. I'm so glad that I went anyway. I just want to say thank you so much to this Hospital and all of the staff that I encountered. Forgive me if I miss a name because it was a lot for me to take in. Thank you to my top-tier surgeon, Dr. Stefani Agolini. To the nursing staff, Mariana, Irene, Emily (who stayed behind to make sure I was taken care of) and Sharifah. To the Clinic staff, Daniella and Maryam. If I miss anyone during my time there, I apologize, but you know who you are and more importantly, God knows who you are. I believe that it was God intended for me to be at that specific hospital. I know sometimes patience are so wrapped up in what they have going on, we forget that there are other patients in the same hospital that are in need as well. I thank God that even through my pain I realize that. But I also realized that despite they're being other patients, each case is looked at as important. So again, thank you Inova ER, to the Anesthesiologist team, Preop prep team, Surgical team, Nursing Staff, Doctors, Post surgery team, Radiologist and anyone I overlooked unintentionally. Thank you all for such exceptional care."

"I was transported here on Saturday Feb.14, 2026. Upon my arrival I was greeted by Nurse Mary J and Diego. Diego was sweet very nice and took my weight. I absolutely loved Nurse Mary J and Nurse Tatiana they were amazing, both went above and beyond their jobs, and made me feel comfortable everyday, consistently checked on me and when they weren't there I felt it they just made my experience wonderful and was so helpful! Tim from Respiratory was so great!! He made me feel better each day he entered to give me my breathing treatments. I missed him when he was off, just a pleasure to speak with him because he definitely uplifts your spirit while there. Dr.T and the other doctors (sorry I can't remember) were very communicative. I never had to guess what was going on because they let me know every step of the way what tests they were running and what the daily plans were. I loved that, especially being able to see it on the board daily! Shout out to Brian for coming to my room and saying the sweetest and most genuine prayer, I really needed that and thank you for your service may God bless you. Lastly, the food was absolutely amazing! I've stayed at a lot of hospitals over the last ten years trust and believe me when I say it's definitely a 8.5-9 to me!!The yogurt parfait plate, curry chicken, burgers, bbq salmon w/ cheese grits and spinach, all bomb!! Great job to the kitchen staff!! Although I was here for the Flu & Pneumonia and was depressed at times about it, I'm glad that I was cared for by all these amazing people! Your inspiring words, encouragement, hard work, and amazing care didn't go unnoticed by this patient and I THANK YOU!!! If ever I need care again I know I'd be safe and cared for 100 percent here!! You all really care and it shows!! "

"This is the second time that I have had to visit the Inova Alexandria hospital on a Sunday in the last year. The first visit resulted in over 8 hours of waiting time in the ER because there was one doctor on staff on a Sunday. Absolutely ridiculous. Plenty of nurses who must get horribly tired of patients asking when the doctor would arrive. I have been here over two hours already and again they tell me they doctor is working as hard as they can but is the only one on staff today. Clearly I am not alone in my frustration as the reviews are equally horrible. Do better Inova!!!"

"Staff is great! Was admitted to the emergency room this morning and was there for 9 hours until I was able to get discharged and every single worker was professional, kind, actually listened, and were extremely patient (I even heard some rude patients yelling at the staff and they still were patient and kind, very very professional). People always miss my vein for IVs and getting blood work done but RN Maya got it first try and actually asked me what side was better, wish more asked that. She was funny and super kind! Shout out to RN Ann who helped me multiple times and was so caring and efficient. Shout out to RN Vikram and recommending some anime shows! Again, so kind and friendly. Last shout out is to the Doctor who was on call, think it was Doctor Chong or Dr Chung? She really listened to my concerns and explained everything to me that was going to be done, etc. I always feel like health professionals don't get the thanks they need, so shout out to all of you and making my experience pleasant when I was alone in there. "I had to write a review first and foremost: every nurse was amazing, very helpful. My father was there for a few days. 4th floor nurses and doctors bravo thank you. Only one meal hickup and my father was pissed about the camera watching him but when he asked it to be removed they did I thought it was his cranky side about being in the hospital. Nothing but respect to all that helped, thank you!"

"The healthcare providers were great. Honestly if it wasn't for them, I would have rated one star. I question if the front desk lady at the main entrance even understand English. Please get someone who actually care to communicate with people who may already be in distress."

"Came to the ER at 1am, after work at DCA to get checked out for an ongoing upper respiratory infection. The amazing ER nurses and doctors discovered I had a pulmonary embolism. My stay was 6 days. The care I received here was beyond top-notch. The nurses, nurse techs, charge nurses, food staff, cleaning staff and doctors were ALL exceptional. The food was very good, Lemon Ricotta pancakes and Butter Chicken. Thank you all for saving my life and taking such great care of me. Love Heather Metz."

"We brought my grandma to the ER here after being turned away by another hospital that insisted nothing was wrong. Inova not only took her in, but quickly found the issue and started treating her. My family and I are truly impressed and grateful. Every staff member we've interacted with has been kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. The doctor even came in on his day off just to check on my grandma -- that says everything about the level of dedication here. If I ever have an emergency, this is the hospital I'll trust with my care. Highly recommend."
