Testimonials
"I don't think I've ever written a review on a medical practice before- usually because even when I have a good experience with the practitioners, the office support team members are usually bringing down the overall experience. However, the staff at the Rockville office were all super nice and welcoming. One of the patients before me was very rude for no reason and I could see they still treated even him with courtesy and respect. From the receptionist, to the guy that checked me in, to the x-ray technicians, and the medical scribe- they all put me at ease. Dr. Engorn was also a pleasure to work with and was also very down to earth."
"I went to the Centers of Advanced Orthopedics in Rockville, MD on Shady Grove Road for an issue with my elbow on 10/9/25. I saw Dr. Boden, who advised me to go through therapy. When I scheduled my physical therapy appointments, I was told by the front desk staff that insurance would cover 80% and I would be responsible for 20%. After a few sessions, which is started on 10/15/25, I inquired with the front desk (specifically 10/22/25) how much I would be charged for the physical therapy sessions, but they weren't able to tell me saying that there is not balance yet, and they don't know what the costs will be. I find that very interesting that a cost for the sessions couldn't be provided, but understand how that convoluted process works between insurance companies and medical establishments. I figured, hopefully it won't be that bad since they told me insurance covers 80%. The following week session (10/24/25), upon checking in, there was a notice of payment due. It seemed rather high, so I inquired with the front desk to see if the charges were before or after what insurance was to pay. They told me that these charges are against your deductible. I was aware that the orthopedist visit would be against my deductible, but was quite upset when they now stated the physical therapy sessions are covered by insurance (80%) after the deductible. This is after 4 sessions (twice a week.) Let me clarify one thing; I have no problem paying the costs as long as I know what to expect. I let them know that they told me insurance covers 80% and I am responsible for 20%, letting them know that they gave me a false statement. The quite rude front staff person said, well, we don't have visibility to your deductible information. That is a blatant lie, all establishments have access to this information once they inquire about a patient's insurance. I called them out on this, then she proceeded to hide behind the paperwork, saying that they provide only estimates, and you signed the paperwork accepting responsibility for payment of services. I know I signed the paperwork and am responsible for making payments. The issue is not paying, the issue is the staff at the Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics giving false information to a patient! First, no monetary estimate was ever provided. The statement of insurance covers 80%, and you're responsible for 20% was all that was provided by them. Here is a prime example of a deceitful establishment withholding very important information to patients, and disclosing it only at the time of billing, when it's too late for a patient to make a well informed decision. I do not recommend this place at all. The doctors are fine, as are the physical and occupational therapy staff. They were all great. It's the front desk that are rude, make you feel like you're doing something wrong, and mislead you in what is covered by insurance. If you do go to this place, be sure to do your diligence, which I admittedly should have done in retrospect, and check your insurance policy to identify 100% what is covered, and not take what they tell you at face value. This is extremely tiring that we, the people who pay quite a premium for health insurance, have to deal with establishments that only provide a portion of the information required, and are forced to know the right questions to ask, perform insane amounts of research, and are made to feel stupid for questioning a charge based off of false information provided to them by the staff. Shame on you Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics in Rockville! I've been to multiple specialists including dentists, cardiologists, and gastroenterologists, just to name a few, and every single one of them were crystal clear and up front on what was covered and what wasn't covered by my insurance. This post will probably fall on deaf ears, but hopefully at least one person will reconsider getting services at this establishment."
"Avoid this practice! They misdiagnosed my shingles, as a result my outbreak was much worse. I saw Dr. Boden for shoulder pain. After a 3 min cursory exam, he diagnosed my problem as frozen shoulder and gave me a cortisone shot and a prescription for opioids. What he missed was a rash developing on my shoulder that turned out to be shingles. Didn't get it diagnosed until 3 days later at my Primary Care doctor. Outbreak was pretty bad at that point and painful. More careful exam could have saved me a lot of pain. Stay away from Dr. Boden"
"Dr.Denis O Brien is a very pleasant doctor. Helped me with a broken bone below my wrist!! Would recommend him highly!"
"Had a very bad experience with the billing department. Are these people doing business or a service. Still not clear. The boot which is $82 in the market is $495 with these people. When I went to the doctor's office. I checked with these person before wearing the boot. The person who was attending me said clearly it's covered under my insurance. Now I have received a bill for $247.5 Following the billing department for the past 2 weeks. No proper response. The simple answer they are saying is you have signed the document. So you have to pay whatever amount they say. Be careful with these people before signing the paper."
"9 weeks ago, I had a displaced fracture on my clavicle in a biking accident. Thanks to Dr Boden, To-Vi, and team, I was able to have surgery the very next morning and had a plate installed. My OT Sonali was amazing too and I have full range of motion now. Last week I was able to golf and swim with no pain. Thank you!"
"I arrived early, filled in countless unnecessary questions during touch screen Patient Registration, then I wasted another 10 minutes filling about 50 questions on the blue tablet. At least 1/3 of them I've already entered in during the Patient Registration 5 minutes prior. Some of these questions were quite annoying and prying into my privacy. I don't understand why I must answer questions about the way I want to die, or how many drinks per week I had if I only came for an initial knee, or elbow or foot exam. Back to my appointment. The lady who called me in was very nice. She took me for x-rays and back to my exam room'- it took 7 minutes. I was told Dr. Boden will see me soon. I was waiting for 35 minutes, no Doctor. I walked through a long hallway to ask why I am waiting for more than a half hour. I was told that Dr. Boden is busy and behind the schedule and he'll see me as soon as he is finished with previous patient. When Doctor finally came after 45 minutes of waiting, I realized that he is the person that I passed by on my way to ask about my long waiting time and then again on my week back. Both time I looked at him as he was sharing his hilarious story with his assistant. Neither of them asked me "How can I help you" even though I was evidently looking for someone. I've heard their loud talk and laughs at least 15 minutes before I open my exam room's door because they were sitting in a room near my exam room. To leave a patient wait for 45 minutes in any circumstances is bad but to leave a patient waiting because the Doctor is chitchatting with his assistant is TERRIBLE way to treat a 'customer'. I am very disappointed. Finally, Dr. Boden and his assistant came, gave me 5 minutes of their attention and after one and a half hour I left Centers for Advanced Orthopedics, Rockville, receiving only about 12 minutes of medical attention."
"They did an amazing job with my 6yo daughter's broken arm follow up. She scares very easily and they took the time to get her laughing and make her cast removal as smooth as possible."
