"1 star. I was seen 12/18/2025 by Dr. Ramani Peruvemba (Holy Cross / Trinity Health Pain Management, inside Holy Cross Hospital Silver Spring). I'm visibly disabled. Nobody provided clear directions for where to enter, hospital check-in, accessibility routing, or parking logistics. In a hospital setting, that's basic. The appointment itself ended in a way that still shocks me: the staff had originally helped me with a wheelchair, but once I went to the restroom, and came back, Dr. Peruvemba had already left. No wrap-up, no explanation of next steps, no treatment plan. Just a wheeling out of the office. Afterward I was told by nursing that he would not prescribe tramadol, and I received a written message saying he "does not feel it is in your best interest to prescribe narcotics." That's vague, and it was not paired with an alternative plan. When I called the next day asking what the plan is instead & asking about mobility support (walker?), my questions weren't addressed. A callback was promised and never happened. I called at 3:50 PM and reached voicemail even though they list closing at 4. I eventually reached Dr. Peruvemba through an after-hours line. He said he'd need to see me again before considering tramadol and mentioned trying to order a walker, but when I asked what the actual pain management plan is going forward, what my next step was, he ended the conversation! If you're a chronic pain patient, especially if you're disabled and need clear access support, be aware: I got poor communication, a medication refusal, & no coherent plan. I had to contact other urgent care and crisis lines as I had a breakdown. I am not even taking the tramadol I have left since I don't want to only have it run out later anyhow. So I am left in horrific pain (can't sit upright or stand, I wall cling and bounce off walls to get around) for the weekend. Check your options first."

"I was referred to Pain Management and deeply regret going. First, they failed to inform me that because their office is located within the hospital, the visit would be classified as an outpatient visit, triggering my outpatient deductible. This resulted in a nearly $400 bill I wasn't expecting. Second, they required a pre-authorization for the procedure I needed. The person responsible for handling this works remotely -- which in itself isn't an issue -- but in this case, they are clearly not suited for the role. Over a month after my consultation, my insurance company still has not received any documentation from them. I've called repeatedly and left multiple messages, but no one ever gets back to me. Due to this lack of communication and professionalism, I've decided to seek treatment elsewhere. This entire experience has been frustrating, expensive, and a complete waste of time. I would not recommend this office to anyone."

"This is a long post, but needed. While I was being seen by Esther Ozor the NP, and for almost 2 yrs, my pain was managed fairly well. Until I developed severe arthritis in my hip and now in my knee. The pain became unbearable and the amount of pain meds needed to increase because I lost a decent quality of life. Esther knew of my arthritis from my Orthopedist. For the first time ever, I needed to ask for meds for the breakthrough pain I was suffering. Esther knew me very well, the personal issues I was struggling with, and I trusted her. However, she quickly shut me down when I asked for help, and I was more than shocked, I was afraid and confused. I made an appt. right away, and this time the appt.took a horrible turn. She accused me of "drug-seeking", she no longer cared, she was angry and I was mortified and offended. I asked her what was wrong, but she didnt tell me. Instead, she abruptly stood up and said, "Im done!" And LEFT me in the room, ending the appt. I began crying to myself, totally confused and upset that this once kind woman treated me so horribly. I couldnt catch my breath, and was very upset that day. Between that awful visit and now, there were calls to the supervisor and two more appts., plus I was required to have a new x-ray just for Esther. My xray showed that my arthritis had worsened, with a bone-on-bone hip. She claimed to give the meds I needed, but then I found out that it was just for 15 days! That ran out, and I tried for four days to get it refilled. She refilled it, again for 15 days never explaining anything to me. My final appointment with her was so unprofessional, she was angry again, not telling me what the problem was, she was criticizing me and judging me in relation to my physical therapy which I had a hard time getting to for the first couple of weeks because my pain was so bad. She was cruel and it really hurt me to the core for her to treat me that way. She never admitted to any of this. Instead, she told me that if I was not happy with her, that I should go find somebody else. I told her, no, you do not want to see me, and I don't know why!! For the second time, she stood up and walked out of the appointment, I had no idea where anything stood in terms of my prescriptions or anything. From that appointment I walked out and went directly to patient relations, and I spoke with a woman named Bonnie for over an hour, crying my eyes out. She said that it would be reported. Instead of anybody calling me, to make any kind of amends or show any concern, Esther sent me a letter of termination. I am not finished dealing with this issue. I am now facing the daunting task of having to find a brand new pain management Doctor who does not know me. I know that Esther feels that she had the last word, I hope she feels good about that. That will not be the way that it is; I am very wounded from this experience, I am still very confused, and I am disgusted with this practice and their lack of care or concern about my well-being. This was my experience, make your own decision about whether you want to go here or not. If she can change like that with me, she can do that with anybody, because we were actually friends. I am going to seek understanding about what happened, I'm going to advocate for myself~I want an explanation, and I deserve one!!"

"Many visits with promises that they would do something for my constant pain that has been ongoing for more than six months. I was supposed to get a spinal injection, but they canceled."

"Been going there for 4 years. They have given me back my mobility without pain. I recommend to anyone with chronic pain. I'm just mad my previous pain management center, never told me about this place. Could have been out of pain slot sooner. I love the entire staff. Great people."

"After seeing Serval doctors over the years, I'd have to put this place as a LAST RESORT option. Bad customer Service, spoke with a manager Kevin and this guy was rude, lacked empathy, and in the wrong profession. And if this a manager of this establishment, well i dont any oart of this."
