"Following recent spinal cord surgery, I was advised to complete six weeks of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES). I recently transitioned my care to the Midtown East location of Spear Physical Therapy (993 Second Avenue at 53rd Street) after previously attending a facility farther from home, and the change has proven to be an excellent decision. This location is exceptionally well run--modern, impeccably clean, thoughtfully organised, and equipped with amenities such as lockers that make a real difference during recovery. During my very first session of 2026, I had the good fortune of working with Anthony, whose professionalism, attentiveness, and clinical judgment immediately stood out. He was proactive and highly engaged, taking the initiative to optimise the effectiveness of my NMES treatment. Anthony carefully selected larger pads to appropriately target the upper leg muscles and incorporated a hot compress to improve circulation--very meaningful decisions that reflect both experience and genuine care for patient outcomes. Based on this initial session, I have complete confidence in this practice and intend to continue my rehabilitation here for the next stage of my recovery."
