"I had a pretty bad experience with Dr. Choo. I thought his clinical skills were lacking. He also didn't use the info from the patient portal. Plus, he was rude, unfriendly, and wouldn't let me be part of decisions about my own care. I'm not going back to him. I've seen a bunch of other Ortho doctors, and he's the only one I've had this problem with. I ended the vist before recieved treatment to both wrist with carpal tunnel. Throughout my interactions with him, Dr. Choo repeatedly minimized the severity of my condition. During my first and last appointments with Dr. Choo, I experienced consistent patterns of condescension, emotional invalidation, and clinical ignorance. I am not the only patient that has had negative experiences with Dr. Choo. Other patients report positive experiences. Its unclear why some patients recive better care than others. I recommend not rolling the dice with Dr. Choo."

"If you are seeking a physician who will treat you with compassion, respect, and professionalism, I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. During multiple appointments with Dr. Choo, I experienced consistent patterns of condescension, emotional invalidation, and clinical negligence. I approached my carpal tunnel release surgery with relief after years of being denied intervention, only to be immediately berated for expressing my excitement. Rather than engaging with basic empathy, Dr. Choo abruptly cut me off with, "HOLD ON, we JUST met," suggesting that sharing my medical history and emotional experience was somehow inappropriate. Throughout my interactions with him, Dr. Choo repeatedly minimized the severity of my condition, informing me "carpal tunnel isn't life-threatening" -- a profoundly dismissive statement, particularly to someone whose career depends entirely on the use of their hands. Life-altering conditions deserve the same respect and attention as life-threatening ones. During my surgery (performed under local anesthesia, ie: awake), a nerve was struck, causing immediate and intense pain which he was informed of in the moment. I later contacted Dr. Alexander via email, requesting that this incident be recorded for documentation purposes as it was not in the final surgical notes. His written response began with, "First of all, there was no complication," completely dismissing not only the physical event but my legitimate concerns for long-term nerve damage. At follow-up appointments, my experiences worsened. Despite me informing him that my surgical site was extremely painful to touch (described accurately as a "hot stove" sensation, typical of nerve injury), Dr. Choo continued thumping the site with no regard for my repeated warnings, causing further pain, seemingly intentionally. I also requested an evaluation of a newly developed cyst in my dominant hand, a condition known as Interdigital Pilonidal Sinus (commonly referred to as Barber's Disease). Rather than admitting unfamiliarity with this rare condition, Dr. Alexander responded with visible irritation, misinformation, and unprofessional physical behavior (heavy sighing, slamming his hands down, moving into my personal space aggressively) when I corrected his misunderstanding. I did not expect any physician to know every rare occupational disease; I did expect professionalism, humility, and a willingness to document concerns for appropriate follow-up. Instead, I encountered a fragile ego more concerned with self-defense than patient care. I have filed a formal complaint. In my personal and professional opinion, Dr. Choo is unfit for roles involving patient interaction. I strongly recommend he seek a non-clinical or research-based position, where his deficiencies in empathy, communication, and basic respect for others would cause less direct harm. Patients deserve better, Alexander. Do better."
