"Meeting Dr. Amit Jain was one of the highlights on my journey to eventual back surgery. After several months of worsening sciatic nerve pain, an MRI showed an extruded disc at L5-S1. The quickest path to relief was surgery, a discectomy. I'd never had surgery before and was very nervous. Consultations with other surgeons left me feeling rushed, dismissed and unheard, and my husband and I were braced for 'round 3' with Dr. Jain, but there was no need. I had a completely different experience. The office, though busy, was organized and I didn't have to wait long. The vitals technician was compassionate to my inability to sit and took care to make sure I was comfortable on the table. Dr. Jain's PA, Alison, came in shortly thereafter. She was impressive in her extensive understanding of the back and explained my MRI to me in detail. Alison was knowledgeable and kind, and I enjoyed meeting her. Dr. Jain came in next. He was prepared and knew who I was and why I was there. He was friendly and easy to talk to, and sympathetic to my pain. He explained what the surgery would entail and answered all my lingering questions. When we left the office, we knew we had found my surgeon. I am thrilled to say that my surgery was successful and I had immediate relief from the sciatic nerve pain. I received excellent care at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Dr. Jain came to see me before I went home. He and his medical team have made themselves available for questions and assistance in the weeks following the surgery. I am one month into recovering and have been able to ease back into activities and return to work. I'm so grateful to be able to do things now that a month ago seemed impossible. I've had a great experience with Dr. Jain and his team and I highly recommend him to anyone considering orthopedic surgery."

"Dr. Jain is an amazingly talented orthopedic surgeon! My 16 year old daughter needed spinal fusion due to severe scoliosis. She had a 55deg curve in her spine. "Dr. Jain did my daughters surgery in January of 2019. We were nervous when Dr. Jain first told us that she needed surgery. Dr. Jain took time to explain the surgery to me and my daughter in a way we could understand. On Surgery day, we were notified every two hours on the progress of surgery and how our daughter was doing. After surgery Dr. Jain talked to us and told us how surgery went. (She did great) He explained the whole healing process to us and everything he said is exactly what she experienced. Dr. Jain came by every morning to check in my daughter while she was in the hospital. The hospitality we received while at the hospital was remarkable. "I had tremendous back and sciatic pain. It took me over a year to complete my insurance requirements (PT & cortisone shots). When I finally was approved for surgery I was referred to Dr. Jain. and am so glad for that. He is very informative, caring and skilled. I knew I had to have the surgery, but was also a little scared. He and his team provided great comfort and was willing to work with me regarding my sensitivities to certain medications. The surgery went very well and the recovery was smooth. I now have my life back. I had gained a lot of weigh because it was painful to walk. So I just stayed home and ate. Now I can walk again, and have a new outlook. I am exercising more and eating less. I have a lot more to lose, but am confident that I will get there. I would not hesitate to recommend to someone with back/sciatic pain to have the surgery done and to use Dr. Jain."
