"Overall a good experience. Hospital staff seemed competent and were friendly. Facility appeared clean, organized and appropriately concerned about patient safety. My only complaint is that I arrived at 7AM for a scheduled 9AM surgery. I was not however, taken to surgery until 11AM. While waiting for 4 hours, I was initially cared for by an attentive nurse, but after an hour or so was relocated to an area where no nurse introduced themselves. I had to ask for assistance, and received no updates on delays without asking."
"I took a trip to the ER and was impressed by the level of care and attention I received. Dr. Johnson was particularly outstanding -- caring, empathetic, and genuinely present throughout my visit. My wait time was minimal, and the nurse who gathered my initial information, Chelsey, was friendly and did a great job of calming my nerves. That said, a few nurses could benefit from working on their bedside manner. When one nurse, Eva, asked how I was doing and I returned the question, her response was "probably better than you right now." That type of humor is not appropriate in a clinical setting, and I did not find it comforting. I would also recommend that nurses verbally communicate to patients before reaching across them to scan their wristband. During my visit, the nurse, Eva, reached across me without any warning to scan the bracelet on my opposite wrist. The sudden movement caught me off guard and startled me. A simple heads-up beforehand would go a long way in making patients feel at ease. Lastly, I followed up with the office as instructed after my discharge and spoke with a nurse named Molly to ask whether anything additional could be done to address my allergic reaction. Her response -- delivered in a noticeably annoyed tone -- was that there was nothing else that could be done, but that I was welcome to return to the ER if I chose to. As a patient who had just been discharged without a full understanding of my options, I found that response unhelpful and dismissive. A bit more guidance would have been appreciated. Overall, I was seen in a reasonable amount of time and had a doctor who was genuinely happy to help during a difficult moment. I am grateful for that."
"Neema is great! She is very thorough, professional and has wonderful bedside manner. She really listened to my needs and goals and tailored my sessions and treatment towards it. The facility overall is good. The front desk staff is helpful and friendly. The operations of the place is organized and there are many tools and equipment to add variety to the therapy exercises. I recommend this place"
"My visit to the GWU emergency room after my fall was reassuring. A broken kneecap and head gash that required 5 stitches ... ugh! But I was treated with respect and a high level of professionalism. I would never recommend anyone take a fall, but if you do, then get checked out by the best. Don't take any chances, especially if you're 70+ ."
"Professional, efficient, pleasant..each of the nurses, techs, doctors, security and others. The emergency room itself felt more like a busy office than your typical overstimulated body-count center. I sincerely add my name/experience to the banner that was posted on the wall...Happy Emergency Staff Week....andTHANK ALLOF YOU EVER SO MUCH!"
"Everyone was so helpful and friendly to a scared patient. the woman at the checkin desk came out and sat with me in the waiting area to help me fill out the forms The MRI technician went out of his way to make me comfortable and was very patient with my asking every five minutes if we were nearly done. The MRI machine itself was actually spacious and not claustrophobic"
"My visit to the Mammography clinic on 22nd street was a 5 out of 5 being the best score. I was attended to on time. The staff who checked me in was courteous, professional. The tech, Selon was gentle, explained me every step of the way. Most of all she made me feel relaxed for a procedure that was uncomfortable. Thank you, Selon."
"Mostly a good experience but some issues. They require you to be there 2 hours before surgery time. The 3 women who do the admission paperwork could be a little friendlier and all paperwork could be done at one time instead of calling you up to their desks 3 different times. They should also not take phone calls in the middle of signing you in. The paperwork took 20-25 minutes. Now we had over 90 minutes to wait to pre-op. The man who came to bring me to pre-op area was so friendly. All the nurses in pre-op and post op were also friendly and efficient. The downside was after I changed into a hospital gown with vitals taken, and an IV IN MY ARM, and been there for 2.5 hours my surgeon came in to tell me they couldn't do my surgery because the operating rooms were booked (supposedly a mistake by administration). I told him it was unacceptable and he went back and rattled some cages and got an operating room. Absolutely crazy! When my friend brought his car around to the front to pick me up he called the number they gave him to say he was there and they said they didn't have a patient with my name. He stated he had been there all day with me and they finally found me. Bottom line Nurses were great, surgeon did a great job but clerical staff need a lot of help."
