"Dr. McConnell took very little time to review my condition. The notes put in the file for my in-office treatment were incorrect, and I had to call the doctor's office afterward to request corrections. The doctor recommended a complete knee replacement, whereas the condition was with the kneecap only. I will be seeking a second opinion from another physician."

"Update, April 2025: After continued pain & issues following my injuries, I have seen another orthopedist. I have a severe syndesmosis injury, a destroyed medial meniscus and a subscapularis tear at the myotendinous junction. All of these injuries will require surgical intervention, meaning three different surgeries on three different joints. If these injuries had been identified four months ago, I would have higher success rates with the recovery and repairs. December 2024: I was traveling through the area when I was injured in a fall. I was pleased to quickly get an appointment, but it seemed that as soon as Dr. McConnell determined I was not staying in the area, his attentiveness to my symptoms and future care diminished. His instructions that I would need to be on crutches "a long time" are extremely nebulous and unhelpful. How long am I supposed to keep the ankle brace on? He didn't say. He had little interest in the recent medical history of my ankle, and brushed away my concerns that I've incurred soft tissue damage. He ignored my concern about shoulder pain. In general, he appeared disinterested in providing care once he learned I was not a long term client. I feel as though I have been left to figure out how to proceed with my injury via Google searches rather than actual medical advice."

"Oh my gosh I have had really bad pain in my AC joints for like 3 years. Dr. McConnell gave me two cortisone injections yesterday, one in each shoulder. He was so knowledgeable and efficient and today I feel excellent. It felt so great to wake up this morning without swollen, aching AC joints. I am extremely satisfied with my experience. Update: I just had my surgery to correct the Osteoarthritis in my AC joint, right shoulder. I'm so happy I made the decision to see Ortho Virginia. Dr. McConnell is the best.
