Testimonials
"In 2025, I had two knee replacements. I had the most wonderful experience with Dr. Parks and his staff. His office staff have excellent professionalism. They were patient and very informative. Dr. Parks is an excellent surgeon and very patient with questions. Due to Dr. Michael Park's surgery at HSS I have a better quality of life. I am so grateful. People are surprised at the progress I have made."
"Dr Parks is an excellent surgeon. In 2013, he performed a total left knee replacement, which at that time took months to heal. In 2024, Dr. Parks performed two hip replacements, left hip replacement in April, 2024 and right hip replacement in October,2024. I can honestly say, I feel great after two years of pain and not being able to function with every day activities. I can't believe, that the pain went away immediately! I had physical therapy to help with my healing. All in all, great job. Dr. Parks, and great hospital, Hospital for Special Surgery."
"Chosing Dr. Parks to perform my total knee replacement in April of 2022 was where my nightmare began. After performing my surgery, I was in constant pain and unable to bend my knee. Dr. Parks performed two manipulations on my knee, the first in June, 2022 and the second in August of 2022, still I was unable to bend it, and the pain was unbearable. Dr. Parks response to my pain was that I was a slow healer. I experienced pain every day for well over a year. Finally, I demanded another MRI, which he didn't feel was necessary, but he finally gave in. After having an MRI and bringing him the report which stated that I had a ruptured patella tendon, he refused to believe it and said that he didn't see a rupture on the MRI. I ended up going to see four additional specialists who all confirmed that my patella tendon had ruptured. I found a wonderful doctor at Columbia Presbyterian, who in November of 2023 had to redo all of the damage. The doctor told me that I had to have my patella removed. I had to have a cadaver tendon put in and I had to have all of the hardware the doctor Parks put in removed and I had to start this nightmare all over again. But this time it wasn't a nightmare at all. When I tell you, the difference was night and day. Dr. J Herbert Cooper did my second surgery at Columbia Presbyterian and he is a miracle worker because he said my knee was a mess. After the surgery I had to be in a cast for a month. I was in a brace for four months unable to move my leg because the tendon had to heal, but I wasn't in pain anymore. I was no longer taking opiates , two and three times a day like I was under the care of Dr. Parks. I had to see a pain management while being treated by Dr. Parks but after Dr. Cooper did my surgery I was 90% Paine free. I started doing physical therapy in April 2024. I couldn't be happier with the results. Between Dr. Parks not listening to me and ignoring what I was trying to explain to him what I was feeling , not answering my calls ignoring me basically he ghosted me after a year and a half with the help of office manager Stephanie, who was in cahoots with him. My advice to you is not to use Dr. Parks for any type of surgery. His dismissive attitude is disgusting. The last visit I had with him he basically said , I don't know what else to do. He stopped caring a year after surgery so like I said my advice to you is to find another doctor because Dr. Parks is not a good physician."
