Dominion Spine and Pain - Springfield, VA

"Editing my review to state that Dr. Varma called me yesterday evening to speak about my review. I have only been seeing her PA's unless having a procedure and seems there may have been a gap in communication. I will be seeing Dr. Varma herself on 12/18/25 to hopefully rectify my experience and come up with a better treatment plan for what I am currently experiencing. Dr. Varma not only reads her own reviews but takes them seriously and truly made me feel like she cares. Pending my 12/18/25 visit I hope to be revising this fully with more stars and a happier review!! I have been going to Dominion Spine and Pain since May 2025. I was forced to go here as they were the only local Pain Management office who accepted my medicaid plan. When starting with Dr. Varma my last MRI was taken in 2020 which I had the report for. At my initial visit Dr. Varma ordered and MRI that ended up being denied and I was promised they would do a peer to peer to overturn this, that never happened. It was not until 2 more follow ups that they asked me if I had gotten it done to which I stated no Dr. Varma was supposed to do a peer to peer. They brushed it off and said our MA will work her magic to get your RFA approved with the old MRI. Which in fact did happen. I had 2 HIGHLY successful Medial Branch Blocks and was hopeful for the Ablation. The results were total opposite, 7 weeks post RFA on the right side I was have WAY more pain and radiating pain further than ever before, I work for a pain management office myself and consulted my Dr. here whose been practicing 30+ years who stated it sounded as though they touched my L4 nerve root as the radiating pain I am experiencing even today is on the dermatomal plane of the L4 nerve root. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have since obtained commercial insurance through work and have setup an appointment with a new provider. The cherry on top of all of this is I was told in order to obtain MY MEDICAL RECORDS I had to pay $45... ASTOUNDING. They only care about money and doing procedures for more money. They tried to convince me I told them I agreed to an SI Joint Injection which I would never because in 21 I had one that gave me excruciating pain, this is why Dr. Varma immediately went for RFA when I started with her only to revert back to the same injection we skipped before??? 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE. To make matters worse they triple and quadruple book their appointments making you wait almopst 2 hours when there for procedures after having fasted for 8-9 hours already prior... truly the list just goes on and on with this place. Please safe yourself the trouble and find another provider even if it means driving long distance."

"Dr Varma and her entire office for the last four years of living here, has taken care of myself and my husband in such a professional and caring way that no other Dr can even try to duplicate. Each person in the office, from the front desk to the back has been so friendly every time we come in. They know your name even and that's a comfort to know that they care. We are moving across the country and this office will be sadly missed. From the great treatment plans and care we have been receiving to the smiling faces we see each time. "I love Dominion Spine and Pain. Her credentials of her and other medial professionals there speak for itself. As most doctor offices especially when you're an amazing team. There will be a waiting time. I too can become impatient as I had that issue. I had a misunderstanding of those there for a procedure and those there for a follow up or first timers they're not many Doctors and Nurses and the medical assistant team that you can get as such as this Doctor Varma and all of her staff are on point. Some bumps in the road but they always get them straight.The injections and management of my pain plan has become so much more bearable. I have many reasons to be there and one is she's one of the best doctors in her field and her assistants/ medical team are professional, young vibrant and very pleasant and respectful. The injections are very helpful and she does look at Mri's/ Xrays but there are steps you gotta take due to Insurance policies, etc and her expert advice and highly experienced decisions. You can 't go in there " callin the shots". THANK YOU DR. VARMA. I highly recommend Dominion Spine."

"I have been coming here for about 2 years after going to multiple pain clinics without getting any success and Dr. Varma was the only doctor to actually be concerned about my pain after seeing my x-rays and my scans knowing that I was in real pain. The staff everyone in the clinic is really really nice. Always treats with respect. I would highly suggest if you ever have any needs for pain management to check her office out."

"The Doctors and staff are very kind and caring, but the office is poorly managed. They are consistently 2 to 3 hours behind schedule. Given that most of their patients are elderly and presumably suffering from some kind of chronic pain, over 2 hours of waiting is more than burdensome."
