Testimonials
"I saw Dr. Root a while back and was very optimistic going into her office, hoping for some help with a hand which ultimately was determined to have ruptured tendons No pain involved but functionality in several fingers was getting less. I'm very active and lift weights and needed some help on what I could do to get back some of that functionality. A long story short, Dr Root told me Until I had pain she would not move forward to treat my hand. I'm not 30 anymore but I'm also not geriatric. She said directly to me "Well, you're almost XX years old anyway. " Never mind, my lifestyle never mind my activities just a generic rather insensitive comment..The age remark I don't think she meant to be offensive, but clearly to her there's a cut off time when it's not worth the time to help correct correctable issues. It made me lose a lot of hope. It took me a long time after that disappointment and then some encouragement from a good hand doctor to pursue this again. She told me I was still young And because of my personal passions, I should at least consult with another specialist. She sent me to the Curtis Hand Center in Baltimore and I was lucky enough to find a superb surgeon. He took one look at my hand and knew exactly what to do. He never hesitated and said he could help me within minutes of meeting him. I am now recovering at the two month mark from hand surgery which repaired my tendons and working with PT to get more functionality back. I did not get a warm feeling from Dr. Root. She has a lot of patients and maybe it just wasn't her day. Ultimately I'm actually quite happy that she turned me away so I could eventually get to a surgeon I love who successfully operated on my hand, fingers and wrist. This now allows me the opportunity to forge forward continuing to participate in the activities and lifestyle I love. Something unfortunately I was not offered by Dr. Root."
"This was my first time seeing Dr Cassie Root. The entire appointment experience was great. Easy-to-do online medical history, fast office check-in with virtually no wait time. Dr Root was very thorough. Clearly explained everything. Asked what questions I had. She cares. She'll end up operating on me. My wife was a patient of hers and had the same experience I had. Highly recommend Dr Root for your hand and wrist troubles."
"Dr. Root is the best hand surgeon I have met. She gave me a cortisone shot very carefully under Ultrasound and it was by far more effective than that given by others without Ultrasound aid."
"Dr. Root is a kind and patient doctor who thoughtfully explained treatment options. I am very grateful for her expertise and the time she takes to explain all the necessary components of care. Her staff and associates are thorough and reassuring, and their professionalism is exceptional. I feel very lucky to be under Dr. Root's care."
"Dr. Root is excellent. I initially went to her for trigger finger issues. She explains clearly the cause of the symptoms, options for treatment, and the basis for recommending one over another. Most importantly for an orthopedic surgeon, she favors trying conservative, non-invasive treatment before resorting to surgery."
"Dr. Root is a gem. She's done several hand surgeries for me and, thanks to her, I have full range of motion and ability in both hands. She is attentive and thorough. She really cares, she's professional and she's truly an expert in her field. I recommend her without any hesitation."
"Dr. Root did my carpel tunnel surgery a few years ago and did a great job! Recently I went to her to look at a bad cut on the palm of my hand, she was happy to tell me it was going to be fine- again I trust her."
"Great experience and result! I have Dupuytren's Contracture for years pulling in my right ring finger, gradually getting worse. Upon examination Dr. Root recommended minimal invasive needle aponeurotomy surgery. Local anesthetic injections hurt, but after that I did not feel any pain and my finger straightened right away. Recovery was fast and painless. I have to wear night splint for 3 months; it is rather helpful. Dr. Root did a great job, she is professional, friendly. I felt comfortable in her care and would recommend her without hesitation."
