"I first saw Dr. Ceus in late summer 2024 for hip and lower back pain. He ordered an xray of my lumbar spine which revealed multilevel facet arthropathy, diagnosed me with sciatica, and I started physical therapy. No mention of an MRI to see the extent of the facet arthropathy. The therapy did help, and my pain improved for a while. However, in March 2025 the pain returned and got progressively worse. It reached the point where I went to a pain management doctor in July 2025, who immediately ordered an MRI. That MRI revealed severe facet arthropathy, mild slippage of L4 over L5, and a synovial cyst pressing on my L5 nerve -- which explains the horrific hip and leg pain I had been experiencing. I am now facing spinal surgery. Looking back, I wish follow-up imaging had been ordered earlier, especially since my original xray already showed multilevel facet arthropathy. For anyone seeing Dr. Ceus, I recommend being proactive: if your X-ray shows abnormalities or your pain continues, ask about additional imaging or a referral to a specialist. Everyone's situation is different, but I hope my experience helps other patients to advocate for themselves and get the care they need sooner."
