"Dr. has changed my life 100% for the better. My knee fusion is healing well, and for the first timebin 10 years, I can walk without a walker or even a cane! Dr Rao is a caring, compassionate, and patient doctor, who explained my Mar. 5th surgery completely, beforehand and supported and visited me in the hospital at different times, in Sibley Hospital and their Renaissance Rehab on the 3rd floor. Dr. Rao saved my leg, saying he would amputate ONLY if there was no other option. Well, there was! Durable rods support my bones in my upper and lower leg and I walk pretty good , if I must say! I will start Aqua Therapy on September 3. I highly recommend Dr. Rao because he WANTS you to be healed and is highly competent and very confident in his abilities, willing to take a bold approach surgery that will help his patient have the highest quality of life possible. "Dr. Rao and his assistant, Sarah, listened to my mother-in-law describe the sources of pain. They took x-rays, and diagnosed 3 out of 4 issues as arthritis. Recommended physical therapy -- no surgeries, or meds -- and said she should feel some good relief within 6-8 weeks. He also diagnosed another issue as vascular and recommended she see a specialist. He recommended she go off a medication she's been taking for years, which won't do anything to treat the arthritis. She liked his listening, his straightforward manner, the fact he took x-rays, and the courses of action he recommended. She's 95 and seeking some pain relief. We have an informed plan of action -- just what she wanted. Office staff was helpful and efficient and we didn't have to wait long at all. Highly recommend Dr. Rao."
