"Doctor Manderson and his wife and staff Are so friendly and profession make you feel like you're not a patient but a part of a family. I have been seeing doctor Manderson for quite some time My husband also has been saying bad doctor Manderson. We are both very pleased with the service we received under his care. I will recommend any and everyone to his office."
"Giving two stars instead of one because the doctor was generally more accessible to talk to than most. Other than that this was not a good experience at all. I would absolutely not recommend going here or at least getting multiple opinions if you do. I had a major knee injury where my leg bent back far in the complete wrong direction. This was the first orthopedist with availability so I booked a visit. I was diagnosed with nothing more than a simple bad sprain and told that I should just do physical therapy. This seemed a little hard to believe due to the mechanics of how my leg bent. I asked for an MRI to confirm but was told I didn't need one until I insisted multiple times. The doctor did not review the actual MRI and just read the written report which said I had a moderate-significant tear in my ACL, a torn knee capsule, as well as simple sprains of everything else. I would later learn the injury was even more significant than that. Upon reading the report the doctor said I "was a very privileged person" to get the MRI. I didn't make a big deal of this but it came off a bit odd to me. Again I was told that simple physical therapy was the solution. Having doubts I visited two other highly regarded orthopedists in the area who reviewed my MRI imaging. Based on the MRI as well as physical tests, both concluded that my ACL was fully torn or at most hanging on by a thread. They also showed me that I had a torn meniscus. In both cases they believed surgery was the clear choice. When I told Manderson this and asked him to look at the MRI he said he wouldn't because he didn't believe he could read it any better than the imaging center at Providence (the same center that provided an inaccurate report). He said if I wanted surgery he was no longer doing surgeries anyway. End of the day this doctor was a big waste of my time and money. Had I not gone for other opinions I would have spent months trying to rehab a badly damaged knee only to have it give out again when I returned to sports, likely resulting in further injury. I would have been better off having never gone here."
"PLEASE PLEASE! Do NOT GO TO Dr. Manderson. My fiance tore his Achilles tendon a few weeks ago. He called Dr. Manderson for an appointment concerning his injury. My fiance was told that he needed lab work and a physical. Mr. Manderson did not do an x-ray or an MRI to see if he needed surgery. Mr. Manderson also stated he needed to get surgery within two weeks. When my fiance did his lab work and physical, he called back to Dr. Manderson's office to see if he can schedule his surgery. Ms. Monica stated they did not contact my fiance physician for his physical results. My fiance was told he had to contact LabCorp for his results to give to Dr. Manderson's office. I was also on the call to ask questions concerning my fiance surgery. Ms. Monica told me to call the next day (Thursday) to check the status. I called on Thursday and the office was closed. Dr. Manderson's staff is unprofessional and do not care about patient needs. PLEASE DO NOT GO. My fiance made an appointment to go to GW (George Washington University Hospital), he was treated with care and the Nurse practitioner change his splint on his leg. My fiance was told that he should have been had his surgery but due to the incompetence of Dr. Manderson's office, he was not able to get it done. GW scheduled my fiance surgery a couple of days after his initial appointment."
"Dr. Manderson seems to be a wonderful Dr. but his staff is incompetent. I have spent the last 3 weeks waiting on a follow up call as they were supposed to call my insurance company about an upcoming surgery. I called them today for them to respond with Well Dr. Manderson hasn't filled out any of your paperwork yet and where would you get the idea that we were supposed to call your insurance company? Are you serious? Dr. Manderson stated that is what I was waiting on when I left his office 3 weeks ago, now they are making it seem like some outlandish request and as if I did something wrong on my end! Ridiculous! I advise anyone that is looking for a trusted staff to make sure your paperwork and thing are arranged accordingly to seek another Dr.!"
"Beyond trash. The wife is rude and so is he. He kept giving me injections for my knee because he swore it was a torn meniscus and that I needed surgery. He was too pushy and I got another Dr. Never had that at all. I got the actual answer I need. Thank God he doesn't do surgeries anymore. Kept me out of work for a month that I didn't need"
"Dr. Manderson preformed hip replacement surgery on my mother few years ago, doing the surgery he cut the main artery in the hip which almost cost her life. She lost over eight pints of blood, Dr. Manderson had to call in a specialist to fix the vein to keep her from bleeding to death. The surgery took over 6 to 7 hours, because of ( Manderson's) mistake. In those hours no one from his staff told the family nothing about COMPLICACTIONS. When I walked into the recovery room, my mom had breathing tubs down her nose and throat, and was unresponsive. Also because of the blood lost her whole entire body was swollen ( like a blow fish) and my mom is a small woman. The nurses watching over didn't no if she was going to live, I asked "do you think she will make it" They answered " we don't know" My mother walked (on her own) into the Hospital before her surgery happy and healthy. The surgery was suppose to have been 2 hours but in stead it took 7. We took him to court but we lost. It wasn't about the money we just wanted our mom to be able to get reimburse for her pain and suffering."
"I love Dr. Manderson and his wife Mrs. Manderson (Office Receptionist) both always pleasant and Dr. Manderson listens and prescribes what he feels that would best relieve your pain. Even this old cane I didn't want. Thank you, it does help."
"Dr. Manderson did surgery on my knee and I am so pleased with the results. The office is very pleasant and I love the fact that you are treated like family."
