"In early 2024, I saw Dr. Gruskay for a left knee injury with clear swelling, pain, and mechanical dysfunction. Despite this, he told me I was "too young" for surgery and dismissed my symptoms. The MRI showed joint effusion and edema in the Hoffa fat pad, which is often trauma-related. My chart later listed a meniscus tear and patellar tracking issue. Instead of recommending a surgical consult, second opinion, or further imaging, he gave me a cortisone shot without discussing risks. My condition worsened, rehab made it worse, and swelling spread to both legs. I eventually had to seek care through the ER months later to be referred for surgery. Dr. Gruskay's approach cost me time, worsened my injury, and delayed real treatment. I am now seeking surgical correction elsewhere and recovering from a year of preventable decline."
