Testimonials
"After chasing nagging, recoccuring injuries for almost a year - I started working with Cynthia for a different approach than the standard PT teams were offering. Rather than area/injury focused recovery, she addressed the underlying imbalance and mechanical issue that were leading to the strains - and while my acute injury healed I also improved the stabilizing and core areas that had eluded me. As an athlete being able to understand and trust my body again has been the best part - and knowing there is no quick fix, this process has been the best investment I've made in my health. I would encourage anyone struggling with pain or injuries thet doesn't make sense- to challenge yourself and work with Cynthia to figure out what is holding you back."
"I have been having pain issues on and off in my hip and leg dating back years. My past few experiences with physical therapy have been basically someone showing me a few exercises and sending me off to do them without much guidance or encouragement. When I recently had foot issues and was diagnosed with sciatica, I decided I needed to find a physical therapist who was going to listen to my history and help me understand and conquer my issues. From my first phone call with Cynthia, where she listened and asked lots of questions, I finally felt like I found the right person. Cythnia took time watching how I walk and move. She didn't just assign me exercises but explained what was going wrong and how the exercises would help improve my posture and well-being. Cynthia regularly checked in via email and encouraged me to contact her with any questions between appointments. Cynthia also stressed the importance of proper shoes and guided me in finding appropriate shoes. Cynthia's knowledge and encouragement gives hope and confidence that I haven't found anywhere else. Thanks Cynthia!"
"Last summer, an accident resulted in me dislocating my right shoulder. My orthopedic surgeon presented me with two options: physical therapy or surgery. As a pediatric occupational therapist, I knew from the start that I wanted to find a PT who would work one on one with me and view my recovery through a holistic lens. From our initial call, I knew that Cynthia would be the perfect fit. She provided evidence based treatments back by years of experience and is such a personable, compassionate, and skilled provider. She was reassuring during my initial treatment sessions when I was nervous to move my arm and provided clear guidance during the early days when I was primarily wearing a sling and proper positioning was important. Over time, she gave me the confidence and encouragement to move my arm during exercises and everyday tasks. Additionally, she worked with me on modifying my daily activities to support my healing and my busy life as a mom of 3. Cythina walked me through what correct and normal movements felt like during exercises and empowered me to determine what was wrong with my positioning or movements, so I could be successful with these exercises at home. Cythina helped me regain my independence with no pain or discomfort and I couldn't be more thankful for her help!"
"I was having pain in my knees and noticed that the left one collapses inward when I walk. After talking with a friend who raved about her physical therapy sessions, she recommended I look into Orthopedic Manuel Therapy (OMT). After several Google searches I stumbled onto the webpage for Wellness Rehabilitation Inc. I reached out and received a call back from Cynthia Weiss. After our first conversation, I knew I wanted to work with her. Cynthia breaks down the rationale for each move and explains why each move is prescribed. She gave me recommendations for everything from choosing the right shoes, removing, and tying shoes properly, getting down and up from the floor, standing up from a chair without using my arms, using proper posture and alignment to improve my gait when walking and standing. In addition, Cynthia has taught me how to use a balloon to improve my breathing and lung capacity and activate my abdominal muscles and pelvic floor. I am not consistent about doing my homework exercises, but Cynthia is gracious and patient with me. I am still working to incorporate the moves in my daily movements. For anyone who needs a good physical therapist, you can't go wrong with Cynthia Weiss! Thanks Cynthia!"
"Cynthia was lovely to work with! For a couple months, I had been experiencing pain in my ankle due to strain from dancing, so I worked with Cynthia - she recommended exercises and stretches that helped me recover quickly. I'm just 4-5 short weeks, she was able to help heal my ankle. No more pain! Thank you, Cynthia :)"
"It has been almost four years since I began Pilates classes here. In the beginning everything I tried to do seemed difficult and awkward but with encouragement and support from Cynthia, the instructor, the exercises started to make sense. She takes into account any ongoing health issues (I have osteoporosis) and modifies movements if necessary. The small class size is a plus as it allows Cynthia to ensure that the exercises are being performed correctly, which is where the focus is, rather than how many reps can be achieved in a certain amount of time. The challenge is ongoing for me - any exercise program would be - but I feel stronger, I am more aware of my posture and my balance has improved. I know that these classes continue to improve my strength and alignment."
"After a spinal fusion surgery my activity range was severely limited - it was nearly impossible for me to take a leisurely walk, go out, or even shop for groceries. Many treatment approaches I have tried turned out unhelpful (physical therapy, osteopathic manipulations, massage, epidural cortisone injections...). I came to Cynthia Weiss (Wellness Rehabilitation) looking, therefore, for a more deliberate, well-informed and personally tailored mode of rehabilitation. From the very first session with Cynthia I realized that hers was a different and superior approach. We work on core muscles control to protect the spine and examine thoroughly my posture in daily functions (walking, lifting, reaching, sitting and lying down). When needed, Cynthia also includes effective hands-on techniques for relieving trigger points aches and post-surgical muscle spasms. Cynthia helps me understand my body's mechanics, and she gives me insightful tips for daily exercises at home. The one-on-one, full hour sessions are delightful and very helpful. It is worth mentioning that I've been an avid dancer prior to my lower back issues. Cynthia's involvement in this type of activity is an extra bonus for me. Currently, I am pain-free, able to travel, shop, dance and swim. I would say to anyone reading this that you are in good hands with Cynthia. Be diligent about the homework exercises and remain optimistic. Things will likely improve."
"Highly recommend Cynthia to anyone experiencing loss of movement or chronic pain. My issue is kypho-scoliosis, has been a decades long battle, other physical therapy was not long lasting. Surgery, injections, and pain medication are not of interest to me. Following Cynthia's well-planned program and precise one-on-one instruction walking and daily activities are pain free. Your exercises are targeted to your exact needs and clearly explained. Perhaps you are experiencing the nagging feeling that you are not what you once were - please call Cynthia. There may be a small waiting time, it is well worth the physical freedom and sense of well-being you will gain."
