Testimonials
"Allison Ferguson, our amazing therapist at ARC, is MAGIC!! My wife had a serious back issue & I had painful arthritis in my leg. 2 Orthopedic surgeons INSISTED that my wife needed back surgery, but her Neuro Surgeon told her to see Allison instead. My rheumatologist told me to see her for my arthritis. We've each now been seeing Allison around once per month for a little over a year after she QUICKLY got rid of our pain during weekly visits at the beginning. The kind of Fascial Counterstrain therapy that Allison performs has given both of us tremendous relief from our pain. All of the charges have been covered by our Medicare and insurance. She is the BEST!!"
"I had surgery on my shoulder in early February and just completed six months of PT with Alison Ferguson at ARC in the city. What an amazing therapist! She is skilled, knowledgeable, and extremely personable, all qualities that were essential to recovery, especially in the early tough stages of PT. I cannot recommend her and ARC highly enough! Thank you..."
"Alison is great. I had pain and discomfort in my foot and ankle and had been to countless physical therapists before and no one was able to help with the right treatment. Alison was perfect with diagnosing the problem and giving me the right exercises and treatment to solve the pain. She understood the issues right away and came up with the right solutions. I am happy to say that the results were incredible and I was able to experience progress right away and am pain free. I highly recommend her and am grateful."
"After a year of daily back/glute/shoulder pain started preventing me from doing the things I love, my internest recommended I make an appointment for physical therapy with Alison Brown Ferguson at ARC. Twenty four sessions later, I'm back to taking long, brisk walks and practicing yoga - pain free! Alison gave me exercises to improve my core and glute strength, helped me better understand the causes of my conditions, and used a combination of hands-on techniques to relieve my pain. She is very bright, friendly and caring. Thank you, Alison! Thanks also to the helpful support staff, including Kasia, at ARC."
"A friend of mine who is a PT recommended ARC. I was already familiar with the strain-counterstrain method which relieves pain through the release of locked up fascia through a passive yet effective technique. It is slowly gaining notoriety in the PT world and will eventually, in my opinion, replace outdated methods currently used by traditional Physical Therapists. It is science based and not steeped in theory or mysticism. One of the huge positives is that sessions are one on one and you have the PT's attention the entire time, unlike the big chains such as Athletico that are run like a people mill. When I came for some excrutiating neck and shoulder pain, Amy Mc Dowell took a very thorough approach, assessing my mobility and function in every session. In less than three months, I am now pain free and have greater range and function thanks to Amy's professionalism, knowledge of the strain-counterstrain method and her experience. She has even given me a stretch regimen to prevent future flare ups! I cannot thank her enough. If you're still in doubt, they will do a free assessment to show you what they are capable of. Highly recommended."
"I learned about Strain/Counterstrain during a webinar. then I found ARC and Alison Ferguson. Finally, PT that works. It not a gentle supervised exercise program, it actually heals the source of your pain. Highly recommended."
"For the past 7 yrs. I had struggled with cervical spine pain along with fibromyalgia - I would even throw-up from the pain regularly; and forget doing any type of exercise since that would just trigger me to get sick. I had also tried a LOT of PT over the years at various places including Rehab Instit. of Chgo, Athletico, etc. and all I did was get worse. Note: I personally won't waste your time with Athletico, which I've heard from others. Strain/Counterstrain is a new, cutting edge form of physical therapy developed by an OD doctor that really helps reduce pain and calm strained muscles before you start doing traditional forms of PT with them. Which I've finally been able to start doing basic exercises and haven't been sick in weeks. Alison and her colleagues are a very skilled, knowledgeable, respectful and caring group of professionals that listen to you and will be your advocate if needed. Even my rheumatologist from NW has even gone to ARC and recommends them highly."
"I am a golfer in my late 50's and developed a back problem for the first time in my life this past spring. I worked with Amy McDowell and am completely healed! She is the best; kind, professional, attentive and extremely knowledgeable and effective. I am a patient for life! Thanks Amy."
