"When you think of a hospital, it's kind of common sense to think they save lives. They literally saved mine and my unborn baby's life and I will forever be grateful for this hospital. I know they were just doing they're job and I'm just another patient, however, I'm alive to tell my story thanks to them. You impacted my life in a way you can't even imagine. ER was very quick in taking me in, even before knowing how bad my situation was. I believe his name is Jason (I think, sorry if not) from ER keep doing what you're doing. Your good vibes, dancing and singing are definitely needed. I know it helped me. Grace and Giana from 6 med, ladies, you impacted my life. Dietician, Monica, you gave me so much info about my situation. I truly felt compassion in your voice. You gave me courage and knowledge to fight back. I was there due to negligence from multiple doctors. She agreed it's a sad situation and armed me with knowledge of hyperemesis gravidarum during pregnancy so I have a way to advocate for myself against ignorance in the medical field. Grace, love, thank you for letting me know of my rights as a patient and keeping in mind how much pain I was in. Giana, love, thank you for always listening to me in my frustration and making sure I felt the less pain possible with the treatment that was necessary. My nephrologist was also very compassionate, I'm sorry I don't remember his name but he's a great compassionate person. Dr Patel kept it professional. Thanks for saying you're glad I'm better on my last day there. I'm still recovering and need more blood tests done, I was discharged 2 days ago. My kids get their mom back thanks to the amazing staff at Sherman. Much love from the patient with an initial potassium level of 1.7. I was told this is not common, so hopefully, you know who I am. You deserve recognition and are definitely in the right field! Thank God for people like you who actually care...... EDIT- my only complain would be against nurse Christina from 6 med. I met nothing but compassionate people during my stay. I was seen by many and couldn't name all. Christina may have experience and is very "play by the rules" but she lacks what others had which is compassion and empathy. She had some ignorant comments to say about my last meal. She didn't even know the situation. She was also rude to the nurse assistant at that time. She rolled her eyes at her for taking a break. I saw she was coming from break and told her to take her time since I was walking the halls but that I needed to get my IV removed since I was going home. She said thanks and went to put her things away and she would meet me at my room. Christina beat her to it but I mentioned many times that I told the NA to take her time. She didn't care and still seemed annoyed. I wasn't going to say anything but as I mentioned before, I was there due to ignorance in the medical field. She's part of the problem. That's my only complain. Everything else was great."

"The staff are, mostly, wonderful -- across floors and departments (I've experienced several over the past month, caring for a family member with a serious illness). The food is also actually really good, which is such a benefit. The hospital is clearly enormously understaffed, though, and it's clear. When you call for the nurse, you might be waiting for 30 minutes for one to show up, and then even longer for them to return with the correct supplies. They clearly care tremendously and are doing their best (for the most part) but the experience suffers enormously when they don't have enough time or energy to provide the necessary help."

"I went here for a general surgery to remove a cyst. Every single member I met was extremely nice and helpful. From Jackie at reception, Christina and Noel helping prep, Dr Saad, Dr Isaac, and Dr Fremgen and the entire team with the operation, Bri in recovery, - THANK YOU. Sorry for people who's names I cannot recall and have missed. The team made me feel comfortable as best as possible and I've had a great operation. Thank you."

"It was the worst experience of my lifetime my friend was in chemo on the way out she fell, so they took her over to the emergency room she laid in the hallway until 4:00. they tested her back her head and while she was laying there she had very high sugar which they noticed in chemo ,what I don't understand is not once did they test her blood, not once did they give her any insulin and when she complained about being hungry they did not even feed her. I understand they could not feed her untill tests were complete. They were completed by 12. Still no one seemed concerned that her blood levels was 350. Nope they didn't give her any insulin and when she told them she had nothing to eat all day they still didn't offer even a cracker.when it was time for her to go home they gave her a glass of water. Come on Sherman back your nurses and give them more help . I wouldn't suggest this emergency room , it's a complete fail every time I've been there for myself or assisting people"

"Lots of great staff. Beautiful facility... But the hospital has definitely gone downhill over the last 10/15yrs. Last time we were there my mom sat in the ER room for hours no sense of urgency even w/ ambulance. Other peoples blood was sitting on the tray 4/5 viles never picked up. Just left in the room for hours. I'm like mom is that ur blood she's like no it was here when they put me in here. ER staff n upstairs never seem to communicate no one knws info/details of ur issues/ailments. Takes forever to transfer to room. Have to retell over. My mom came to ER alone in ambulance ER nurse told her she had sugar issues/very low. She's never had sugar or diabetes issues ever in her life. Thought maybe they had confused her blood, etc since vials were just sitting around, etc. Seemed out of the norm. **Next day they gave my mom INSULIN at dinner when I questioned it they claimed her sugars were off. When I asked if they retook her blood that morning or noon they said no it was the reading from the other night basically ingored my concerns n proceeded to give her the insulin shot in her tummy. My mom did have a lot of med problems but she died the next morning. I think it was a mistake. I'm not blaming but it's sad when a hospital is known for mistakes and people say don't have ur mom go to Sherman again they are killin ppl over there. "

"My experience at this hospital was extremely disappointing. I came through the Emergency Room with severe pain and a condition that ultimately requires surgery. The staff was unfriendly, dismissive, and made me feel like I did not matter as a patient. They only focus on "stabilizing" you and then try to send you home as quickly as possible, even when it's clear that further treatment or surgery is needed. Instead of actually helping, they push you to see outside doctors so the problem is no longer theirs -- and of course, those other providers will charge you separately. It felt more like a business transaction than medical care. On top of that, the facility itself looked dirty and poorly maintained, which raised serious concerns about hygiene and patient safety. If you have the option, I strongly recommend avoiding this hospital and seeking care elsewhere."

"This is a mixed review. First the positive: My husband had a total knee replacement and the care he received was great! The doctors and nurses were knowledgeable, compassionate and the care that he received was top notch! Now to the negative: A family member took him to the hospital 2 hours early. I am disabled with a severe nerve disease and I knew it was going to be a long day. My plan was to arrive before he went into surgery and valet my SUV. I also have handicapped license plates. I have a small, compact electric wheelchair with a lift in the back of my SUV. I pulled up in the circle and motioned that I would like to valet. As I opened the hatch, a young man came over to help me. Just then, a woman who said she was the manager, came running over and yelled to him to stop helping me. Then she looked in the front seat of my car and noticed that I have hand controls. She screamed that they could not valet my car because of that. I told her the foot pedals work just like any other car and she yelled at me that they couldn't valet my car! I explained that I had to get inside before my husband went into surgery and she didn't care. There were 4 handicapped spaces within the circle but they were blocked off. I asked it I could park there. She said no, that I had to go in the main parking lot. I had already gotten the wheelchair down and unhooked so I asked if I could leave it there while I went and parked. So then I had to walk, with my crutch, from the main parking lot to the entrance and I made it 5 minutes before they took him into surgery. I have used valet parking at other hospitals, events, everywhere and NEVER have had a problem. I was furious to see how they treat their handicapped, senior citizens. There are laws about this! Sherman, you need to do better!"

"I work as registered nurse and am hugely impressed with the care my husband has received at Sherman. The nursing staff is professional, attentive and so very caring. I know when I leave the hospital that my husband is in good hands!! Thank you for all you do!!"
