THEIR NEW POLICY is when you are with workers comp to give them your CLAIM NUMBER or you won't be seen...that's interesting because it sure didn't happen like that!! Well these are our doctors and my husband was injured on the job. On the way to the hospital I called to tell our doctor at ORTHOMARYLAND that he was hurt." Instead of going to ER, come HERE" they said. Your doctor is not here but We will let you see DR. JAY or an assistant!!! Arriving in chaos we told the desk clerk it was workers comp and we had NO claim number. She should have said OK, fill out this this and this and call us the minute you have that number but Instead she took our BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD and put it on our insurance. WORKERS COMP number came through and suddenly ORTHO OF MD SAYS "WHAT WORKER COMP?".. HUH? ..... and the claim was kicked out. TURNS OUT you can't be seen unless you have that number on the giddyup. WELL WHY DID YOU TELL US TO COME when we could have gone to THE HOSPITAL? So you would think someone could just correct the paperwork? Nope. We have to find another practice unless we want to drop the workers comp claim. Thus far He's been out of work for a month awaiting surgery on his knee. Thanks ORTHO. After 8 years as my surgeons you just toss us to the curb because YOUR INTAKE CLERKS are busy texting and sending selfie pix? I'm sure we will find someone else..who will LISTEN and write the correct paperwork. You see folks.. when you're injured and in pain and life is coming at 90mph you're not thinking about claim numbers and paperwork. You're worried about your bills and your job!! What does a receptionist INTAKE person do? They prep each patients info. That's your job. Not my job. You come to MY work I take care of you. I come to YOUR job you're supposed to do the same. We will survive the but I want my story to follow ORTHOMARYLAND. If I can help ONE OTHER PERSON.. it was worth it!"
