"Richard Boiardo is the best orthopedic surgeon I have ever been to. I have been to three Orthopedics in Long Island, New York with Northwell health, which was a nightmare. Northwell health is just a money machine and they could care less about patients . My knee was swollen. It took them three weeks to find out if I had an infection and Dr. Boiardo saw me , drained my knee, And got results within a day. He is the only one that wanted to see me walk to see what's going on and he administered stem cell shots in both knees. My one knee had surgery, which the doctor in Huntington did not do his job with the meniscus. He missed part of the meniscus and every doctor at Northwell would not tell me what was going on. So I went to Richard Boiardo, I am bone on bone on the right knee. Dr. Boiardo administered stem cell shots and now I have perfect knees. Thank you God for Dr. Richard Boiardo !!!! Only go to him, because he knows what he's doing, and he has his own practice !! DiAnne Gale."
"I love Dr Boiardo. He was excellent when he did the surgery on my hand. He is very brilliant, kind, and respectable. I will recommend anyone to come see him. I have issues with my knee now and he will be the one I will be going to about that as well. That's how highly I recommend to anyone."
"I experienced a broken ankle in Mid May of this year and visited an Urgent Care doctor for x rays- I was told that I had fractured my ankle and would need to go to an orthopedic surgeon.. upon arriving at Dr. Boiardo office we immediately paid the office visit as he does not accept insurance- the payment was around $400.. after being in the office for around 45 minutes- we finally met Dr. Boiardo who said "oh wow this is a very bad fracture.. which will require surgery with plates and screws".. my initial reaction was surprise as the urgent care doctor told me the fracture was minor and may not require surgery. Dr. Boiardo told me to sit tight and he would be back in the room shortly.. another 45 minutes later he came in and started pushing stem cell treatment. He had the receptionist (his wife) come into the room and start showing me her wrists and how great they were after receiving the stem cell treatments.. from her husband. They explained how this would cost me at least $3,000.00 out of pocket- mind you the doctor never ONCE even took off the walking boot or even looked at my ankle..nor did he take any additional x rays. I felt as is if I was being sold a used car. Even after asking Dr. what would happen if the stem cells did not work and I required surgery down the road he proceeded to say "you will never get a bill from my office we will not charge you for surgery" which made me even more weary. He continued to show me photos of prior celebrity clients he assisted with stem cells.. which is a HIPPA violation.. I work in a law office! .. after much consideration I decided to go the route of the stem cells and scheduled an appointment for the following week- even after the negative office experience I figured that if I was able to avoid surgery this would be the route to go. Upon giving it more thought, I decided to get a second opinion to be sure I was making the right decision. Upon arriving at the new doctors office I was immediately taken into an exam room and additional x rays were taken. I was told that my fracture was an unstable fracture which would DEFINITELY require surgery and would not be effective with stem cell treatment- the other doctors actually smirked when I told them I was considering stem cell treatment they said "for a fracture..? let me guess you owed money out of pocket".. I had the surgery the following week and am now four months post op and doing great! I am not saying that stem cell treatments do not work for everyone however, I write this review to encourage others to get a second opinion before paying thousands of dollars for a new technology. Maybe the office records are not up to date. His wife also called me an hour after we left claiming we never paid the co-pay.. which we had a receipt for. She apologized after confirming with her office staff that we did in fact pay the co-pay stating that "the girl that took your payment left for the day so we didn't know if you paid of not"... lol"
