"I selected one star only so I could write this review. This was my first time coming to this emergency room, and it will definitely be my last. If my son wasn't in pain and discomfort, I would have left immediately. The woman responsible for calling patients from the waiting area into the emergency room was extremely rude, hostile, and unprofessional. My son was skipped twice while waiting. When I calmly asked how patients are called in, she immediately responded by raising her voice and speaking aggressively instead of simply explaining the process. At one point she loudly asked across the room if my son was a trauma patient instead of addressing the situation respectfully. The interaction became so uncomfortable that I told her she was at a "10" and needed to bring it down to a "1," because there was absolutely no reason for that level of hostility toward a parent asking a basic question about their child being seen. She then began saying she didn't want to lose her job instead of properly doing her job and addressing the situation. The interaction escalated to the point that a cleaning staff member actually stepped in and brought my son and me into the room because the employee responsible for patient intake would not handle it professionally. She also said she was going to get a supervisor, but no supervisor ever came. When families come to an emergency room, they are already worried and stressed about their child. The last thing anyone should have to deal with is hostility, disrespect, and unprofessional behavior from hospital staff. I truly hope hospital administration reviews how patients and families are treated in this department so no one else has to go through this experience while seeking care for their child."

"Thank you University Hospital for saving my husband's life after a horrible stay in Silver Lake LTACH Hospital for 3 months without improvement, nearly killing him. In 25 days at University, he was off the ventilator and trach removed making him eligible for nursing home. God bless everyone there."
