"I am very thankful for Dr. Brian Kahan and his positive approach to dealing with pain. I was told by several forthcoming people in the lobby that they view him as an alternative for surgery which can be iffy under many circumstances. However, I came to see him for unremitting pain due to a bulging disc. My hope is that the treatment will calm down the inflammation and let me get back to my go-go lifestyle. I found Dr. Kahan to be very positive and a great communicator. My husband (physician) urged me to see him before my condition escalated further. The treatment went smoothly and I hope that things improve. Post instructions told me that it might take a few days to experience best results. All thanks to Dr. Kahan and his team for taking GOOD care of me! Kathleen VanAntwerp, Severna Park"
"Disappointment After Seven Long Years I spent seven years with this pain management practice, and I can confidently say it was a regrettable decision. From the start, it became clear that they prioritize profit over patient care. This place operates like a pill mill, churning out prescriptions without a genuine concern for the wellbeing of their patients. I was hoping to find relief from my chronic pain, but all I received was a revolving door of medications with little to no guidance or alternative treatments offered. I was placed on a ridiculously high dose of multiple narcotics that were more appropriate for someone three times my size. I'm lucky I survived that period. To make matters worse, when I requested Narcan as a safety measure, they outright refused, stating, "that's basically an admission of over-prescribing" while laughing at my concern. Additionally, I was instructed multiple times not to seek advice from a surgeon, with the dubious claim that it would make things worse. Unfortunately, by the time I finally saw a surgeon, my cervical disc was compressing my spinal cord, and I was in a dire situation that required emergency replacement. My neurosurgeon explained how easily a small accident could have made me a quadriplegic or worse. It was infuriating to realize that the advice I was given by this practice could have had catastrophic consequences for my health and safety. Every appointment felt rushed, as if they were more interested in getting me in and out than actually addressing my issues. Communication was virtually non-existent; I rarely felt heard or valued as a patient. It was disheartening to see how they dismissed my concerns and failed to explore other pain management options that could have improved my quality of life. If you're looking for a compassionate approach to pain management, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. This practice will leave you feeling frustrated and hopeless rather than supported and relieved. Seven years wasted, lesson learned."
"Kahan prescribed two opioids to me for several years. I was very sick I was running late from a previous Dr appointment. The Dr called Kahans office to let them know. Upon arrival, he refused to see me as a patient anymore and would not fill my medications. There was no taper of any kind. I ended up hospitalized with permanent memory loss and a host of other issues but apparently I was lucky. I could have died. Patient beware!!!!"
