Testimonials
"My Pcp referred me to Dr Jeffrey Gross for pain management and possibly an mri, as I was a victim of an accident, 8 weeks ago and still in a considerable amount of pain. I went for my appointment today, 10/25/2022 and whilst this facility i was seen at, was clean and I was seen immediately, the low rating is for Doctor Jeffrey Gross' unprofessional and inhumane behavior during my visit. He didn't listen to me, consistently interrupted me whilst I tried to explain, talked over me like he could tell me exactly what my body was feeling, tried to make my predicament sound less than it was, he basically had a terrible bed side manner. I definitely believe he did so, because I am a black woman. Or maybe just because I'm a woman. He talked down to me a lot and couldn't even be bothered to maintain eye contact. I felt belittled. How do you tell someone who was in a severe accident - "oh this wasn't such a traumatic experience"? Are you in my head? Do you feel what I feel? I WAS HIT BY A CAR WHO DID NOT STOP! What isn't so traumatic about that? Were you there when the accident occurred? Such an unprofessional, and I don't recommend anyone to him. He was very lackadaisical about my situation. He also went ahead to say, "as we can see you're a very sensitive person" insinuating that I might be exaggerating my symptoms, I promptly responded, "Yes I am because I've got a big heart!" Which had him slightly taken aback. We aren't friends, why would a doctor speak to a patient that way? You have no idea what the patient's mental state is/was. Just Terrible. He also insinuated that I might be making things up, which made me feel so terrible, because all I wanted was to feel better with less pain so that I can return to work. You can tell Jeffrey gross has been doing this for a while, because he seemed way too comfortable being mean. I don't recommend him at all. He is like his name implies - GROSS. However the facility looked good and was clean and the receptionist was very kind."
"I saw Dr. Gross for severe pain in my wrists and hands. He heavily implied my pain wasn't as bad as I was saying it was and thought I was there seeking pain meds. I don't like to take any sort of medications (I typically ride out a cold and a headache for as long as I can). I just wanted to start physical therapy as soon as possible and he was so dismissive. I wouldn't recommend this guy to my worst enemy. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR."
"Echoing the sentiments of a few others - Dr. Gross is misogynistic and either too incompetent or too lazy to provide real care for his patients. He continuously cut me off when I tried to explain my symptoms, rushed me through my appointment and left no room for me to ask questions. He even insinuated at the beginning of our appointment that I was lying about my symptoms because I have a Xanax prescription (what?!). As if every person who deals with anxiety ALSO has Munchausen's? He refused to run any tests and only agreed to order an X-ray after I demanded it several times. He later smugly informed me that, as he'd thought, the X-ray came back normal. How is this a way to treat patients, people who are in pain and struggling with potentially life changing injuries? After several months of going to OT with only worsening symptoms I went in for a follow-up and he recommended I just continue with the same treatment plan. The path that was clearly NOT working and had only led to increased pain. I've had to live the past year of my life in debilitating pain that leaves me unable to work because of his incompetence and negligence. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT NYU. I'm at HSS now and it is amazing. Go somewhere where doctors want to put in the work to see you heal."
