Testimonials
"Dr. Novak did not listen to me or answer my questions. He barely took the time to see me. If you're a woman, avoid this doctor at all costs. He said he would not operate and that I needed a partial knee replacement or just stay in pain. I went to another doctor at INOVA, Dr. Quinn, got the operation to remove my knee bone spurs six months ago and am now pain free and back to my normal life. I'm even doing a 15 minute mile on the elliptical and doing yoga! Do not waste your time even going here."
"Dr. Croog is such a pitiful orthopedic doctor. He studied body joints for 10 years and has decades of experience, but he only knows about the hand. Joints are part of the body, not a completely different subject, but he refuses to check my shoulder. I had more pain in my shoulder than in my finger. He said he is only specialized in one hand. I arrived with two different issues: finger joint pain and shoulder pain. When I had the appointment, I forgot to mention the shoulder. Based on my experience with Inova, they try to increase profits by splitting body joints across different locations so patients see different doctors and generate more revenue. However, it depends on the doctor whether they practice ethically or for greed, convenience, and quick money. Dr. Croog is one of those. Shameful medical professional. Or perhaps he isn't smart enough to understand all the joints that connect the human body. Either you're not smart enough, greedy, or lazy, Croog--you are a shameful doctor."
"Not only did Dr. Lee BARELY take the time to look at an issue I had after surgery with him, after repeated visits to address it they then billed it as a new issue. When I called to dispute the fact that it was an issue cause by the surgery, I was told 3 separate times that someone would call and they never did. They then sent that debt to collections even though I had a separate much larger unpaid bill for the surgery. So instead of talking to me like a human they played me dirty and sent the small debt to collections which is now going to affect my credit score. I've been seeing a new surgeon to fix the issue that Dr Lee caused and this office has shown me how thorough my visits at OrthoVa should have been."
"I am extremely disappointed with my experience at OrthoVirginia, specifically with their billing department and customer service. The services were rendered in 2024, yet I did not receive a bill until the end of 2025. Receiving a bill more than a year later, with no prior communication or explanation, is both frustrating and unprofessional. What makes this worse is the complete lack of follow-up from their billing team. Despite multiple attempts to get clarification, no one returns my calls or provides any meaningful assistance. This lack of transparency and accountability makes their billing practices feel shady and poorly managed. Patients should not have to chase a medical provider for basic billing explanations, especially for charges that surface so long after services were provided. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid OrthoVirginia due to their questionable billing practices and abysmal customer service."
"Everything was alright until I missed an appointment because I came down with the flu. I became sick the night before my appointment, tried canceling, but couldn't because it was less than 24 hours notice. That I can understand, but then they canceled all my future appointments and discharged me without even talking to me!! Please do yourself a favor and find some where else for your PT!"
"The doctor himself is good; however, the overall customer experience was poor. The purpose of the messaging portal is unclear if it does not allow direct communication with the physician. Requiring patients to take time off work and schedule an additional appointment simply to receive a brief summary of test results that were ordered by the doctor is unreasonable and inefficient."
"Hello I hope someone will pay attention to this! I was calling to make an appointment and when I called again for the follow up, as I was spelling out my legal name the lady was literally making fun of me, I told her I was having pain and I was spelling my name, she laughed and said " lord have mercy". That was very disrespectful and unprofessional. And I believe my call was recorded for quality purposes. How could someone just make fun of a patient's name while he is trying to make an appointment?"
"I was highly disappointed in the medical treatment I received from Dr. Croog.. it seemed like he was just rushing to get to the next patient and I feel like he didn't properly review my injury.. This place is a money grab.. If you ever watched the show MONK.. that pretty much describes this lousy so called doctor..I would not recommend this place to no one.. Although the office manager Andrea was very helpful, other than that thumbs down a very bad experience"
