"I recently had foot fusion surgery with Dr. Steve Behrens at HSS. I had been a patient of Dr Behrens for several years leading up to my June 2025 surgery. Dr Behrens always supported my decisions with my treatment and timing that worked best for me in scheduling my surgery. I felt at ease and in good hands throughout the process. From the beginning of my treatment through post op care Dr. Behrens, his outstanding PA Meagan Murtagh, the entire staff and everyone who treated me both before and during surgery at HSS were professional, attentive and provided excellent care. I am thankful for Dr. Behrens and HSS and highly recommend both! - Susan D"

"Dr. Behrens performed two surgeries on me after a freak accident in which I shattered my patella. It was a very scary and anxiety-inducing time, but Dr. Behrens and his team provided the most excellent care I could have imagined! He and his PA, Meagan, always made themselves available to answer any calls, emails, or impromtu visits I made at the height of my pain. They really showed true kindness and care to me- always listening to my concerns and validating my pain. I can't recommend them enough!"

"I suffered a Lisfranc injury, partially tearing the ligament. I wore a medical boot for several months to try and heal the injury, and immediately regretted not going to Dr. Behrens and his PA-C Meagan sooner. They were so professional, quick to come up with a surgical plan and straightforward with benchmarks I would be making on my path to recovery. I am now six months from surgery, about a year from injury.. and finally starting to feel like myself again. In addition, I really liked the staff at NYP where my surgery took place. The facility was exceptionally nice."
