"ONLY 11 days post-op--Arthroscopic Surgery of L Hip Anter.-Super. Labral Tear Repair + Femoroplasty (Cam impingement) + Acetabuloplasty (wave patterns inside acetabulum + Pincer impin.) + lil Chondroplasty of the femoral head PART--bc long story short, reached Dr. Kaplan after YEARS of hip-pain so MORE things needed fixing than it'd yrs earlier! but I guess let's already write another deserved, great review abt Daniel & NO WONDER he has RARE 4.9/5 's from his prev. patients, I'm ANOTHER OBJECTIVE proven one to that fact!;) My hip issue FINALLY turned out the above diagnosis (of Dr. Kaplan, in OCT 2025 when I FINALLY met him!) after 2 OTHER (Dr. Armin Arshi of NYU, & Dr.Joseph Michalisin of Northwell) misdiagnosing hip docs were calling it 'Trochanteric Bursitis' WRONGLY since 2023 (when I finally reached Dr. Arshi when my hip pain went down to the KNEE already, otherwise, had the pain since ~2021 even! IKR?!) if I caused it to 'myself' from TOOmuch running w/ LOTS of post-pandemic gained-weight (I ), FAST-paced NYC lifestyle ('hustling' New Artist & Actress)/my over-grown Cam/Pincer/whatever else! To give some info about PREV. 2 docs (it could be helpful) MAYBE to Dr. Arshi's justification, '23 hip MRI DIDNT show (don't know why) any 'labral tear' so I guess thatswhy he kept 'Troch. Bursitis' & so did the 2nd, Dr. Michalisin (WRONG he didn't ask for NEW MRI tho in June 2025 when I met him for 'new set of eyes & ears' bc for 90%, labral tear would ALRDY be there (hip was getting worse) like our FINAL Sept 2025 MRI showed after 10 WEEKS of ineffective PT's (5 weeks of that w/ Arshi in the past), + 1 ineffective corticosteroid injection in the BURSA w/ Michal. (2 ineffective ones w/ Arshi) On top of misdiagnosis, Michalisin EVEN dropped me when I became emotional how he, too wasted my MONTHS so had to search for another 'new GREAT hip surgeon' (now that I KNEW had a tear) by myself & 1st, reached Dr. Kaplan's also great NYU colleague Dr. Ivan Madrid, he examined me/checked my MRI/CONFIRMED there WAS a tear (my hip knew it by itself, could do less & less things in my life) so he REFERRED me to 'best w/ Arthroscopic Labral Tear surgeries', Dr. Kaplan! Met Daniel Oct '25 (at Cobble Hill loc. that takes my Medicaid), told him this LONG YRS full of story , he had already talked to Dr. Madrid but STILL patiently (as usual) listened to me & BEFORE telling me 'yes I 100% needed the surgery or not', 1st requested the 'low dose' CT scan of my hip to PROF. see EXACTLY what was up w/ my hip, all angles, etc, to see if we'll be doing surgery & WHAT kind! scan showed '22 degree anteversion' of my hip, which is smth I was 'born w/', def NOT 'open surgery worthy' 30/40 deg. one so we left this thing alone (he told me it never increases its ) & knew that we HADTO take care of my OBV. LABRAL TEAR w/ BOTH Pincer/Cam!! Next apt we did the 'diagnostic' Lidocaine injection NEAR the tear so 'if I'd like it after 24 hrs, that'd RESEMBLE how I'd feel POST-op'! LIKED the results/it was MUCHbetter so we went ahead w/ planned surgery (sadly he's SO booked up, it was in 2 months, on this Jan 26th!) 'patiently' waited, there was no other choice, could BARELY walk, CLDNT seat, had to 'choose' a sleep position, cldnt lift groceries anymore, no work, 0 social life/100% bedtime so FINALLY 'The Day' came, he fixed initially-said 4 things VERY well (I believe), I'm following all resting instructions well, don't even have so much pain so far, today dropped off the hip braces & they alrdy removed my EXT. stitches (inside ones hold torn labrum which'll heal as I live my life as it seems!) ALL pre/post-op NYU nurses were VERY nice, I'm always full of Q's (prev. Science bckgrnd) so he's ALWAYS answered my MLN Q's THOROUGHLY & timely, PT intake Feb 10th (12 WEEKS of intensive PTs tho) which I'll do well & THEN this hip will FINALLY be able to feel EVEN better than pre-pains (as I saw previous young ppl recovery videos, I'm 33) so CANTWAIT for that/StayTuned, & THANK YOU VERY MUCH so far, 'Great' Dr. Kaplan !! "I had labrum repair surgery with Dr. Kaplan in July 2025, and I couldn't be more grateful for the care I received. From the first consultation through recovery, he was incredibly compassionate and took the time to understand my specific situation and goals. I never felt rushed--he explained everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable and confident in the treatment plan. His personalized approach really stood out and made a difficult experience much easier."
"Dr Kaplan provided exceptional, prompt and personalized care. He spent time with me in his office, detailing the specifics of my surgical plan. His office staff were also wonderful and extremely helpful in answering any additional questions. Surgery went very well. Dr. Kaplan was extremely attentive, both preop and postop. I could not have asked for a better surgeon and care. I'm very grateful. Highly recommend Dr Kaplan."
