I had a total hip replacement; everything from the initial appointment, pre-op discussions, surgery, and follow up care has been informative, professional, efficient, and pleasant. The surgery was out-patient and I was walking unassisted after 1 week. You definitely have to put in the work with the post-op exercises they provide you, but 6 weeks later I am pain-free with my mobility improving every day! Huge thanks to OrthoVA and Dr. Petersen!"

"Dr. Petersen was unprofessional and did not seem very knowledgeable about the knee issues I came in for. Solutions he suggested were outdated bandaid solutions (like cortisone shots for cartilage issues) or irrelevant for someone my age (a knee replacement). When I mentioned other treatments I had gotten he was very dismissive of them, did not listen to me and just tried to give me a PT script. He said I would be "on the bike for the rest of my life" without working with me to figure out other solutions. Seems like a lazy doctor. I will not be coming back to this practice."

I had been in excruciating- at times - pain in my hip and thigh and lower leg for about 3 weeks before that. I was very impressed by the helpfulness and thoughtfulness of the staff.
